This is another poem about Black Butler. In my opinion, this is a bit sadder than "Shooting Stars", but I hope you enjoy it anyways! Reviews are the food for my soul. So please...don't leave me hungry. Thanks for reading!
A Devil's Heart
A glass full of souls and their bloodcurdling screams,
Puppets all tearing apart at the seams.
Roses of white have bloodstained respite
And thorns winding 'round a heart dark as night.
xxxx
But a heart choked black,
By no means loves back.
It's always twisting and turning,
And bleeding and yearning….
xxxx
Eternally bound by a web of spider's thread,
Heart sinking onwards to the final bed.
Hands that grasp madness reach for the moon,
But checkmate's arriving a little too soon.
xxxx
Knight by his side,
Rust will abide,
On a crown tipping and reaching,
Extending, impeaching!
xxxx
Skeletons dancing around in his sleep,
Death gods and monsters and a devil he'll keep.
Silently dying, a heart that's still trying,
To win back the soul his devil is buying.
xxxx
Sickle slick smile,
And all the while,
Fingers wrap around the soul of a child,
Never releasing the heart so beguiled.
xxxx
Will be consumed with his crown full of rust,
Even his heart with its fragments of trust.
Forever inside, a heart dark as night,
Ever-too-broken for any respite.
xxxx
But a heart choked black,
Maybe loves back.
Vermilion eyes bright, drives off all fright,
Cradles his master, kisses goodnight.
xxxx
Lovely white roses and a crown full of rust,
A bleeding heart woven with fragments of trust.
Eyes that won't dry, devils can cry,
As a broken voice whispers the final "goodbye."
