I present to you the companion piece to Belief after Childhood! Obviously, there will be Bunnymund/Sophie within, as well as Jamie/Pippa, and as our first chapter shows, Jack/Mother Nature. But, not just those three, but other side pairings as well.

This story, for the most part, will actually be a collection of one shots and drabbles that take place within the Beliefverse as I'm coining it. As my summary explains, there will be a slight crossover with the Nightmare Before Christmas. So, my disclaimer is this: Rise of the Guardians is owned by Dreamworks and William Joyce. Nightmare Before Christmas is owned by Disney and Tim Burton.

In Which Jack Tries to Play Cupid

Thundersnow: An extremely rare thunderstorm where snow is the main form of precipitation instead of rain.

Pairing: Hints of Bunnymund/Sophie and Jack Frost/Mother Nature

Rating: K

Jack wasn't a hundred percent what his experiences with the other gender was like in his previous life, but he was pretty sure it didn't involve lightning and gale-force winds.

"Do your part, Frost," Mother Nature snapped, her tone almost as cold as the north wind that combated the southern warm moist air she was trying to bring into the air around Burgess. Around them thunder cracked as rain pelted the pair. "Winter is over in the northern hemisphere, deal with it."

Despite the power the regal woman wielded, Jack couldn't help but smirk back at her as he crafted the rain into softer flakes of snow. He knew he was only irritating her, but it was just so much fun. "Come on, Nat. I was just dropping in to see the Bennetts."

Mother Nature, or Nat as he obstinately called her, huffed and waved away the flakes of snow settling in her black hair. But the anger in her pale features softened slightly. She was one of the few that seemed to understand why his family was so important to him. It wasn't because she knew Jamie and Sophie, he doubted she had ever said a word to them, but something else made her more lenient with him of them.

"Then say your goodbyes and leave, Jack." She rolled her strange silver-golden eyes before she drifted into the dark clouds she had brought with her. He allowed his playful smile to fade as he rested his staff on his shoulders while he watched her leave. He had enough of his mind, mostly concerning his adopted baby sister and the kangaroo, but at the same time he couldn't help but wonder what Mother Nature's core was. Sure, she wasn't a Guardian; at least not a stated one. But he had seen softer sides of her as she made rain gather into puddles for kids to splash in, and watched as she carefully crafted beautiful rainbows after one of her fits of anger had blown over, almost as an apology.

Everyone told him to give her a wide berth, that she preferred her own company over any other. But he had seen the same loneliness he had in those first three hundred years reflected in her eyes. The faraway look he caught glimpses of, almost a perfect image of the longing he had felt back then.

He was going to find out what was behind that look...after he knocked some sense into Sophie and Bunnymund.
