Bayville Belles

Disclaimer: I don't own and in some cases am glad I don't own any of the characters in either Xmen evolution or Marvel.

Okay, this is my first fanfic, so any constructive criticism would be more then welcome. Like I said in the summery, this isn't a Mary Sue, I've evolutionised a couple of Marvel characters... I'll try my best to keep the story lines connected to what happened in the comics and the powers the same but in some circumstances that might be a little impossible so don't flame me if I screw it up! I'm just going to have some fun developing some personalities... in the future I'll probably add some new characters in but for now I'll just stick to a few because I really don't want to swamp myself. Anyways, enjoy.

Chapter 1: Bedazzled
****
The music pounded in her ears, a steady beat. The crowd in front of the stage she was in moved and swayed to the tunes pumping out of the large speakers bolted tightly to the corners of the stage. Everything seemed to melt into one blur of colour.
All she could hear was her own pulse in her ears, her blood heating. She parted her lips and realised a couple more bars of the song, her voice swinging through the large ampatheartre, causing more cheers. She grinned widely as she kept her grip on the thin metal bar attached to the microphone. The cold feel of the silver metal feeling good against the warm flesh of her palms.
Spinning in a swift circle, she dipped the microphone and blasted a couple more lyrics, nodding her head to the heavy music blaring behind her. The diva flicked her long golden locks so that the tips reached the small in her back, sweat dripping down her exposed skin.
Out of the corner of her eye she noticed something that made her heart beat rise again, her carefully made up baby blue eyes widening in surprise. A brawl was occurring in a corner of the room. She looked away at the recognisable sight of crimson blood splattering across the wall. This wasn't supposed to be happening. Alison Blaire had signed up for the high school talent night even against her father's wishes because that's where she felt she belonged. On stage. She was meant to have fun in the spotlight, not witness something so... foul.
Shaking her head, she opened her mouth and closed it again, repeating this a couple of times before she tightened her grip on the microphone almost desperately, as though it were a lifeline. Her stammers in the verse caused people to crane their necks around looking for the disturbance. That was when the gunfire was shot, screaming feeling the air and the tension thickening almost unbaringably.
Watching the gang of hardened looking men beating some jocks to a pulp, Ali bit her lip as she stepped back, the music still playing as though nothing was wrong.
"The broad on the stage is mine, Fellas'."
She shuddered at the harsh sounding voice cutting through the chaos. She glanced down and gasped, dropping the microphone and holding her hands up defensively as she noticed the man pull himself onto stage and slowly advance upon her, a cocky smirk across his features that made her shudder.
"Don't worry, baby, I'm just gonna' have a little fun with ya', whaddya' say, hm?"
Tripping on the cord of a guitar, she fell back and screamed shrilly in a panic, her arms still held out in front of her as she prayed frantically for a miracle. And that's when it happened.
***
Alison sat stunned in a shadowy corner of the theatre, staring in front of her, too shocked to move or say anything. Her wide eyes carefully scanned the scene in front of her as she wrapped her arms around her tighter, blinking back tears as she stole a glance at her hands. She listened intently to the various camera crews clustered around the front of the building
"Police say an accident most probably caused by a gang of rowdy men who crashed the local school talent concert shorted the lighting system hooked up to the stage."
"So far witnesses claim that everyone who was in a certain radius of the stage has been temporarily blinded by what has been described by a flash of light. "
"Detectives are still examining the area for..."
Wiping away her tears with the back of her hand, she stumbled forward as she noticed her fathers SUV pull up in the drive way. She slowly pulled open the car door and peered inside not at all surprise by her fathers hardened face, staring ahead.
"Get in." he ordered, staring ahead emotionless out the windshield.
Drawing a deep breath, she slid in and pulled the door closed behind her. Buckling her seatbelt, she attempted swallow the mysterious lump forming in the back of her throat. "Daddy, I didn't meant to.."
"I SET THAT GROUND RULE AND I EXPECT IT TO BE FOLLOWED." He screamed at her without warning, his grip tightening on the steering wheel so that his knuckles turnt white. He stole a glance at her, looking disgusted. "GODDAMN IT, ALISON, YOUR MORE AND MORE LIKE YOUR MOTHER EACH DAY."
She felt as if she had been slapped across the face. She winced and looked down at her hands not daring to speak again. Her father had always been strict about her performing on stage, he expected her to become a lawyer like himself. She had always thought of singing as her passion and dreamed of being a famous singer some day. She didn't have much luck with this though considering her own mother had abandoned both her and her father to run off to chase her jazz career.
The rest of the ride home was in silence.
As soon as the car pulled to a stop in the driveway of a suburban home, Alison ran blindly to her room, slamming the door after her. Still in a daze, she sat down on the edge of her bed and clung to her pillow as she gazed at herself in her full length mirror across the room. Reaching for a box of tissues, she dabbed at her red puffy eyes and wiped her tear strewn cheeks.
Frowning, she tightened her grip on her pillow and whispered to herself, "I'm not like my mom. I'll never be like her." Sighing, she fell back on her mattress, closing her eyes mumbling softly to herself before she dozed off into an uneasy sleep. "What happened back there... What am I?"
