Chapter 1-Introduction
The warm sunlight soaked the blue gem with warmth on top of the barn silo. Lapis would usually enjoy resting at this particular spot for the view of the area around the barn. Amethyst has told her that "chilling" helps when you are sad or need to think something over, so she thought she could try it out. It was about 5-10 minutes into her relaxation when a familiar gems voice could be heard at the bottom of the silo.
"Hey Lapis! Laaaaaaapis! come down here and see what I have created with my infinite genius! And my erm, infinite boredom.". Lapis looked down to see a jumping and excited Peridot staring up at her, happy but impatient. Lapis gave a slight smile at the cute sight before her, she stood up, released her wings from her back, and glided down to the surface to meet her tiny green friend. "What is it you needed to show me so badly Peri?". Without answering, Peridot, with a smile as big as homeworld, quickly grabbed onto Lapis's hand, and led her as fast as her little legs could carry her into the barn.
The barn door soon opened to reveal wires strewn about the barn, piles of boxes, each approximately 1 Peridot tall, and in the center of the room, sits a desk with a strange box under the desk and a type of small screen, similar to their television, but much more thin with a picture of her and Peridot displayed onto it. With a confused look at the device in front of her and then Peridot. "Peridot what is this, is it a type of 'Meep Morp'?" asked Lapis. Peridot gave Lapis the face of excitement, so she knew that she was in for a mouthful of Peri explaining.
Peridot smiled, cleared her throat and spoke. "Well you see, due to my devotion to the crystal gems, I am without home world technology! But with the help of Steven, i was about to create a human computer! Granted it is not as advanced or cool as my old gadgets but we can use it to do so many things! Here let me show you, come sit." Peridot said as she quickly nudged Lapis to the computer seat at the front of the desk. Lapis decided to humor Peridot and took a seat at the new desk at their barn. At the desk she saw a keyboard, a mouse, and a framed picture of her and Peridot in a cute selfie like picture. She did not know how human technology works, so she fumblingly tried working the mouse and keyboard similar to a toddler. She heard Peridot giggle at the sight of it, making Lapises face turn red with embarrassment. "Lazuli you are so ado-I mean you are such a dork when it comes to new things, let me show you how works". Said peridot. And for the next couple of minutes, with peridots hands on Lapis's, Peridot taught her how a computer works, showing her cute and cool videos on Tube tube, to playing cool games on things like Vapor and Battleweb. After Lazuli got the hang of it, peridot sat herself onto Lapis's lap, watching their favorite show on tube tube instead of their old television, they both lost track of time with all their new found fun, that it quickly became night time. At this point peridot has fallen asleep sitting on Lazuli, her head cocked back on her shoulder. Lapis would still be up due to not being able to sleep from horrible nightmares of Jasper, but with peridot near her, all she could think about is love. With a quick look behind her to make sure nobody was around, lapis took her hands off of the keyboard and mouse, and wrapped them around the small green gem on her lap, and gave her a secret kiss on the cheek, not phasing peridot in her deep sleep.
