Kakuzu watched in a chair as his partner mumbled in his sleep. He tossed and turned every now and then.

After a couple of minutes, Hidan started sweating.

"Hidan."

"..."

"Hidan!"

"K-kuzu..."

"Hidan! Wake up! You're having a nightmare!" Kakuzu stood up from the chair he sat in and gently shook his partner.

The younger man slowly woke up, looking around. "Kuzu?" Hidan asked sleepily. A tear escaped from his eye.

"Yeah, what is it?" He asked. "I cant believe you're still here..." He said groggily. "Hidan, I've always been here, and I always will." Kakuzu replied.

Hidan smiled. "G'night, Kuzu..." Hidan drifted off once more. "What was that about?" Kakuzu mumbled to himself.

In the morning...

"Hey, guys, you hungry?" Deidara asked turning on the light. Kakuzu was laying in his bed, asleep.

"Kakuzu!" Deidara yelled. Kakuzu easily woke up. He was a light sleeper. "Yeah?" He asked rubbing his eyes.

"Where's Hidan?" He asked. Kakuzu sat up and shrugged. Then he realized what was happening.

"Holy shit!" He quickly got up and ran out of the room, he grabbed his cloak, and quickly put it on.

"Hidan?" He asked frantically. "Hidan?" Kakuzu asked again. Where could he be? He asked himself.

He tried to bring up any thoughts about Hidan's hiding places.

"Kuzu. If I ever get kidnapped, and I run away, I'll always be behind the waterfall." Hidan said grinning. Kakuzu hadn't paid much attention to it, as he was trying to finish his paperwork. "So...I'll also be there if you cant find me..." He said.

"The Waterfall!" Kakuzu quickly thought, running outside and to the waterfall.

He found Hidan behind it, he quickly ran to the younger teen. Who was now cutting his wrist.

He cut it a couple of times and then, he sucked the blood.

"You're like a vampire, ya know." Kakuzu said slowly approaching the teen.

Hidan jumped and stepped back. "Woah, you scared me..." Hidan said looking down.

"Sorry...So what the matter with you? You never leave without telling me or Deidara." He said.

"I-i...I was scared..." Hidan started. "I was scared that if...I told you...or Dei...that you would...hurt me..." Hidan said putting his arms behind his back.

"Why would I do that?" Kakuzu asked walking towards Hidan.

"B-because...We've been fighting more then usual...I don't like it when you hit me..." Hidan said so quietly, that only Kakuzu and him could hear.

"Okay..." Kakuzu said. Hidan was in arms reach of him. Kakuzu immediately hugged the teen. "I wont ever dare to hurt you on purpose..." He said holding the smaller boy.

Kakuzu could feel his cloak start to get wet. "Are you? Are you crying?" He asked.

"N-no..." Hidan replied sniffling.

Kakuzu chuckled and kissed his partner's forehead. "I'll try to stop hitting you, if you try to stop cussing." Kakuzu said, lifting Hidan's face up with his hands.

"Kay?" He asked tucking some of the man's hair behind an ear.

Hidan sniffled and wiped his nose with his cloak. "Kay." He said smiling.
