There were times when he wondered what had gone wrong. Other than the obvious - his father committing seppuku in front of him, his arrogance costing his eye, his incompetence costing the life of his friend. There were times when he wondered what had happened, to lead to him standing here in front of a group of a children (he'd been so much older than them when he'd been their age) who were the image of the team he'd grown up with, and learned so much from.
He had to do best by them, because he'd failed them the first time around.
