She didn't know how to party. He knew how to live life to the fullest. She wore dark depressing colors. He wears a pink shirt for goodness sake! She has a perfect boyfriend, who was like made for her, and he has the perfect, surfer, vegetarian girlfriend.
And yet… they weren't happy.
Gwen bit her nail as she walked up to the doors.
"I shouldn't be here…" she thought stopping in front of the big wooden doors
As Geoff promised, he invited her to a big blow out party, just for the fun of it. When she reached for the door, Geoff swung it open.
"Hey bra!" he smiled, his Geoffly smile, "Come on in!"
She stepped in and looked around, some of the people by the door were giving her looks, and she started to play with her hair nervously.
"Come on bra! Let's get you a drink!"
Geoff pulled her to a keg, and Gwen began feel a little out of place.
"Geoff, there's people staring…" she whispered as Geoff handed her the cup
"Don't worry about them bra! They haven't seen a girl as cool as you in forever!"
She felt a blush crept to her cheeks and looked around. People were everywhere, the music was blasting, and couples making out…
"So… this is a high school party…" she asked Geoff "Sick…"
"It is pretty sick isn't it!" Geoff said happily
"So, where's Bridgett?"
"Out…" Geoff lost the smiled that was always on his face
"Oh… sorry…" Gwen looked down "But I know how you feel, Duncan has been going out a lot lately… probably with Courtney…"
"I didn't think she was cheating until now!" Geoff said looking at Gwen
"Sorry! Bridge would never, ever, do that Geoff!"
"Thanks bra," he said laying a hand on her shoulder
Gwen smiled "So… are you going to introduce me to people?"
"Of course!" Geoff said, happiness coming right back into him
People started to leave around one in the morning. Gwen walked around the almost empty house, looking for Geoff, so she could tell him that she was heading home. She looked around, and found Geoff hiding in his kitchen, hunched over, looking at his phone.
"There you are! I've been looking for you for like... fifteen minutes… hey… what's wrong?" asked Gwen
"I think… I think Bridgett and I are over…" he said looking up
"What are you talking about?" Gwen asked "Bridgett would never…" Gwen looked over his shoulder and saw the text
Geoff, I'm sorry… I can't do this anymore… it's just… too much, all the girls looking at you… I'm sorry, I will always love you though…
"Oh Geoff…" said Gwen, her soft side that only few knew about, coming out.
"Nah, it doesn't matter… really, I mean, I've seen this coming for a long time…"
"Really? Why?"
"Come on! She gets jealous if any girl ever looks at me, remember when we did that tri-armed challenge at the island?"
"Yeah, I remember…" said Gwen
"Well, she got really jealous, because she thought that we… had a little fling going on…"
"Why would she think that!" deafened Gwen
"I don't know… I mean… it's… us…"
"What's that supposed to mean?" she asked laughing a little
"I don't know, sorry I didn't mean for it to come out like that…"
"It's fine…" she looked down "I better head home…" she turned on her heel but felt Geoff grab her wrist
"Gwen?" he asked
"Yeah…"
Instead of replying, he pushed hair out of her face and said 'I hope you know how special you are to me…'
She blushed "I'm not Geoff…"
He cupped her face and lightly kissed her.
"You are…"
And for once… they were happy…
