Just count to ten.
That's what they said to do.
It'll be fine.
It's fine.
It's fine.
1, 2, 3...4...5
This isn't working.
I can't do this.
It's not fine.
There are too many people.
Somebody help me.
Please.
Help!
"Phil, are you okay?"
Dan's voice.
I tired to answer but my breath caught in my throat.
I couldn't breathe.
I gave him a desperate look, hoping he'd understand. Luckily he did. He, without a second to waste, wrapped his arms around me tightly.
A hug.
In public no less.
This was new.
"Phil. It's okay. Calm down. You're okay"
He whispered softly into my ear, squeezing me tighter. I tried to calm down but it just wasn't working. This wouldn't even have happened if I didn't embarrass myself as usual then have everyone looking at me.
Just take deep breaths.
It'll be fine.
Everything will be fine.
I clung to Dan, tears escaping my eyes.
That's when he did it.
I really, really didn't expect him to do that.
He gently took my chin between his fingers then tipped it up until our eyes meet. He then pressed his lips against mine, running his fingers through my hair gently. I just blinked in response, claming down a lot actually. Dan had never, ever kissed me in public before. He was always too scared someone would see us and they would judge him. He was always terrified what people thought of him. But he just had just kissed me. In public Just to calm me down.
God damn I love this boy.
He pulled away slightly, a small smile tugging at his lips as he gazed at my expression. I must have looked so weird. Just standing there staring at him in shock. He took my hand tightly in his, another thing he never does in public.
"You feeling better now?"
I took another deep breath before looking into his eyes.
"Yes" I managed to squeak out.
"Good, come on. Let's get home" he said, already pulling me in the direction of our apartment. I followed him, keeping a tight hold of his hand as I looked around the streets nervously. Why did there always have to be so many people?
We soon arrived back at the apartment. Dan dragged me straight to the couch as soon as we got in and pulled me down onto it.
"Dan, what-"
"Cuddles make everything better, right?" he asked, wrapping his arms around me and placing a small kiss to my cheek. I couldn't help but blush. He was just…so nice.
"…Yeah"
"Good, I thought so" he replied smugly, tightening his grip around me. I smiled softly, actually feeling completely calm now. I had no idea how he did it but he calmed me down completely. Maybe it was his hugs or kisses or, I don't know.
Maybe it was just because he's him
He's my Dan
"You okay now?"
"Yeah…because of you" I admitted shyly.
"Awww. You're so adorable phil" he teased, a smirk taking over his features
"No I'm not. Shh" I whined, pushing him away playfully. He just laughed softly before pressing his lips to my forehead in a quick kiss.
"I love you"
"I love you too, you butthead"
