Skinny Love
How all this happened? He really could not imagine how his life got like this way. A year ago he was Bluebell's pride, he was elected man of the year and was engaged to the most beautiful Belle, the daughter of the town doctor and his 15 years old girlfriend Lemon Breeland. Now, everything is just, so mess, so…fucked up, he was even cursing now.
It was all Zoe 's fault, it was 'cause of her the he was her that he was sitting in a dark room for almost three hours, cause he really haven't got the energy to get up, not even to turn on the lights. Why that everything with her didn't work out? He left his fiancée for her, he was living in New York because of her, he couldn't even come back to the town he spend his hole childhood, and worst of all he couldn't call Wade Kinsella his long time best friend, 'cause he of all people was very quick to judge him. Who would imagine that Wade would be so furious with him leaving Lemon?
It was fucking painful to just hear all the cars passing by in the street of his tiny apartment, and the fact that he and Zoe never, ever had anything close to an argument, and they lived together the past six months. She just left, she didn't even said goodbye to him, and he just got there and realized that nothing that belonged to her was left in the room. At least she didn't abandoned him in Bluebell, that would be awful, the whole city hates him and he would never would have the courage to go in front of those curious eyes once again, since he and Zoe escaped the town only one week after his marriage with Lemon was called off. Well, thinking straight he quite liked to live in the city, maybe the past six months with Zoe wasn't what he expected to be, but being in the city again was really refreshing, and just wonderful.
The relationship with Zoe never took off, he always felt like she was holding something back, that she always hesitated in every aspect of their romantic lives, in bed, in sharing thoughts in just about everything. And it's not like he did much to save their romance too, he just kept feeling this enormous amount of guilt in his chest whenever he was with her, he wasn't really sure why but he just couldn't avoid that. He tried a lot to not feel that, but nothing really work out and he eventually started to avoid her, it was not like she made hard to avoid her, since she stayed long hours working in the hospital. And he was almost sure that the guilt was not because of Lemon, okay, he felt a bit guilt of ending thing with Lemon , but they should have realized that they only stay together for an old love, a love that they no longer hold to each other for quite a while.
He didn't love Lemon anymore, but he couldn't just make himself love Zoe, it was just the weirdest thing. She got the courage to go back to Bluebell, and she wasn't really that bad, actually she was quite a nice person, but they just didn't love each other, that was it. And he wasn't really willing to admit that another one of his relationship was doomed to fail, that was like admit he was doomed to fail, but truly it wasn't like he and Zoe really loved each other, they were just good friends, with lot of things in common, that got to each other because of deceptions, that put a really amount of fantasy to try and cover up their deceptions and things that of the past that there were no willing to let it go. He was New York, being alone and a hot shot lawyer, witch he understood now it was what he really want of his life, and hers was this dream of being a cardiothoracic surgeon, an live in New York and she get it that was not her anymore. They both just let it go of their roots finally, what got them stuck to a city that they may love, but was not when they belonged anymore.
