Tiarryn Aylias Essex-Lebeau, his reason for living and the reason for his
troubles. He would and had given up everything for her many times and yet
he never got to see her, not really, it was the price he paid to keep her
safe. It was the cost of protecting her, everything had a cost, that was a
lesson he had learned long ago.
He wasn't surprised that she was who he thought about when he was up here freezing to death, she was the only one who mattered anymore. He could have told Rogue why he had been part of the massacre, but no he had to keep her safe. He had too, even if it meant his death. He would willingly pay the price. Yes he would die for his Aeri, he had made up his mind years ago.
"Hello Remsington," he heard said behind him, and he knew he was about to pay another price, for another favor that he never asked for. He was always there always watching, waiting, for him to come 'home', no that place would never be home, Gambit decided that long ago. "Aren't you even going to turn around my boy?"
"Non, maybe if Gambit not turn around then you not be there, oui?"
A sick smile came across his face, how he loved these meetings with Gambit. "How many times must I help you before you drop this attitude of yours?" Sinister asked then continued when Gambit didn't respond. "So your friends now know about your involvement with me? Do you really think they are coming back for you?...unless" At this Gambit finally turned around for the first time since Sinister arrived.
"Non," Gambit responded quietly. "Just leave Gambit be, Ess"
"Others I kill for less, you know, Rems." Gambit's gaze never changed. "Of course you must be used to your liberties by now."
"Gambit be serious, just leave him alone." He tried to turn around and walk away, but a strong arm grabbed his shoulder. "You coming with me was never a request, and you know that my son." As Gambit turned around for a second time he realized that the marauders had joined them and formed a circle around himself and Sinister. He cursed himself for not noticing sooner.
"Course Gambit always like a challenge," Remy said threateningly, before beginning the fight. Of course being out numbered didn't help his chances of winning, but maybe he could get one of them to kill him, he thought.
