"Truth or dare?"
"Dare."
Casey and Derek were sitting on Casey's bed, playing Spit/Speed, along with truth or dare. Their parents had gone to Derek's grandma's with the Edwin, Lizzie, and Marti.
"I dare you to go over to Emily's in your underwear, and ask for her father," Casey dared Derek.
Derek thought about the many times Emily's father had threatened to call the police, then said, "...Truth."
"Um," Casey thought, "Why do you only date girls with an IQ lower than a goldfish?"
"Well if her IQ is lower than a goldfish, then they're easier to screw with," Derek said in a duh tone.
Casey crossed her arms over her chest, "Seriously."
"I don't know," Derek shrugged, slapping the smallest pile of card, "I just do."
"Derek," Casey whined.
"This is 'truth', so you need to tell the truth," Casey said, collecting her new set of cards.
Derek rolled his eyes, and set up his cards.
"Derek. I know you're smarter than a goldfish," Casey said, slowly setting her cards.
"And how would you know that?" Derek said.
"Because I'm not a fish?" Casey said in a duh tone.
"Really? I always thought you were a fish. Whoops. My bad," Derek snickered.
Casey grabbed a pillow and threw it at Derek.
Derek caught the pillow.
"Look what you did, Casey."
The cards were scattered on the bed and over the floor.
Casey grabbed the pillow back, "How about we make a deal?"
"For what?"
"The truth."
"Okay. I'm obviously gonna win."
Casey rolled her eyes.
"Okay. The person who wins Spit/Speed, can truth the other person any question they want."
"If I win, I do dare though," Derek said, collecting some cards off the floor.
"Yeah fine. Whatever."
Five minutes later, Casey laughed at Derek.
"Okay okay. Shut it, and just ask the stupid question," Derek grumbled.
"Why do you only date girls with an IQ lower than a goldfish?" Casey asked.
Derek reluctantly answered, "Because if I date smart people, they know I'm a player. But if I date...let's say, Amber...Not that I haven't already...Anyway, if I date Amber (again), she won't reject me cause I'm a player. Because she either A) Can't see that I'm a player or B) She won't reject because she's a bimbo. But if I date you, let's say. You'd reject me, right?"
"Duh."
"Yeah. Because you know that I'm a player and you can see that in me."
"Okay...But can't you just start fresh?" Casey asked.
"...Uh, no. If I drop my player ways, my reputation will drop."
Casey rolled her eyes.
"Well is there one person you really actually want to date?" Casey asked.
Derek thought about it for a moment, staring at Casey, then nodded, "Yeah."
"Is her...hopefully it's a her... IQ higher than a goldfish's?" Casey said.
"It's a her, Casey. I'm not gay," Derek said, with a dead-serious face.
"Really? I thought you were."
Derek rolled his eyes.
"So is her slash his IQ higher than a fish?" Casey repeated.
Derek rolled his eyes again, "Way higher."
"Okay, I can't wait to meet her!" Casey said happily, as the doorbell rang.
"If only you knew," Derek mumbled under his breath, as she went to answer the door.
