FIRST PLATE

Vincent Mattas placed the requested meal in front of his most unusual customer. "Huevos Rahcneros. Enjoy."

The owner of Café' Diem stepped back to work on creating the dishes his other customers ordered. He paid scant attention to the hungry man, wondering if guacamole qualified as 'a green food'. If not, he had other dishes he could try.

Ronon Dex slapped a big spoonful of guacamole on the fried corn-tortilla, topped with an over-easy egg and a slab of ham.

As he finished chewing the dripping mess, he grinned. "This is good – what's next?"

Vincent blinked. "Something else?"

Ronon nodded.

"How do you want your eggs?"

"Surprise me."

COURSE TWO

Vincent placed the salad bowl down. "Before you ask, hardboiled eggs, diced ham, on a bed of fresh greens."

Ronon eyed the green mix. "I get the lettuce. But broccoli, celery, - and what's this?"

"Lettuce?" Vincent almost chocked in shock. "That's not just lettuce – its Iceberg Lettuce, Romaine Lettuce, Mustard greens, spinach, and Kale."

The two men had a slight staring contest. Vincent gave in first, drawn away by the arrival of his assistant, Zoe Carter. "At least try the salad before deciding you hate it."

Ronon picked at the leafy-greens, dipping the stems in the dressing at the side. He nibbled at the vegetables, determined to finish, not sure if he liked the mix.

SERVING THREE

A basket of fruit passed by the unfed customers. "This looks good." Ronon snagged a Granny-Smith apple from the bowl, and he bit into apple before his meal was placed down.

Café' Diem's owner and main cook passed the latest dish to his waitress. Zoe carefully slid a warm three-egg omelet in front of the ravenous man.

"Green Bell Peppers, grilled ham, white onion, cheese – " she glared at Vincent, (No, I'm not naming the specific cheeses) – "and two slices of whole-wheat toast."

The half-finished apple landed on the plate. A knife and fork cut into the omelet.

"Anything to drink sir?" Zoe asked, noticing that he had nothing. Not even a glass of water.

DISH FOUR –

"Hot green tea, water with a slice of lime, and a bowl-full of green jello." Vincent stepped back. "Sure I can't get you anything else?"

Ronon sipped at the water. "Not today."

"I must say, I do enjoy customers who give me challenging orders."

Ronon shared a glance with Zoe. "Challenging orders?" He asked.

Zoe shrugged. "You asked for something different – can't say I've ever heard of people asking for 'green-eggs-and-ham' before." She gathered up the used utensils. "It was fun trying to figure out how to add green foods to the meals."

"Might come by the next time I'm in town."
