The Conflict

As Naruto held fast in a deadlock with Sasuke, blood pouring from the corners of his mouth, Sasuke consumed by his curse mark, questions poured into his head… Why do we fight? Why do we battle? Why is honor such a big deal? Why do we kill off our comrades'? What is a ninjas' purpose?
He could not answer for the deadlock was breaking, Naruto and Sasuke leaped away from each other landing on surface of the water.
" SASUKE! Why do you seek Orochimaru?" yelled Naruto as he smeared the blood with is arm
"Why should I explain myself to a idiot like you?" countered Sasuke as he grabbed his kunini and charged at Naruto
There they were again, in a deadlock. Naruto's eyes glazed over with power and anger as his inner beast released inside him, as Sasuke forced his curse mark to its maximum potential. They were both equally matched weather they admit it or not.
They slashed back and forth at each other, both making contact to the others blade. You could hear the sound of cold metal hitting cold metal for miles. Then it happened…. Naruto missed a step giving Sasuke an opening. With one slash of his kunini he sliced open a gapping hole in Naruto's stomach. Naruto instantly blacked out, or so it seemed, falling into the water, sinking. Blood rose to the surface as Sasuke stood on the surface, breathing heavily as he began to talk. " You asked why I seek Orochimaru. Well your answer is this…When everything you know and love is taken from you so harshly… all you can think about is… anger, hatred and even revenge… and no one can save you. Orochimaru is my key to extracting my revenge…and no one shall get in my way. Not even the ones I care about most. Can't you at least understand that, Naruto?" that was Sasuke's last words he said before he left Naruto in the water.
Naruto fell to the bottom of the lake, blood still coming out of his wound but he was still conscious. I know that answer to those questions now…Sometimes in life we fight to protect to what is precious to us…even…if we don't know the outcome… but even then…it's so hard to lose someone… The way of the ninja is to protect others who we love and care about… honor gives us the ability to never give up… and we fight and battle… So others may live another day in peace and harmony….
Well I think I'll stop here ;) ok so tell me what you think, I know the first chapter is very short but I think until I get done with my other fanfics, this may be the length for now :P
