The Four Scrolls

Prologue

Cigi screamed as she was slammed into the brick wall by the blast of raw energy. The man that had sent the attack was suddenly at her side as she slid to the floor. He had her by the throat, pinned against the wall with unnatural speed, not chocking her, just holding.
"Now, let's try it again, kitten. Where have you girls hidden the scrolls?" The man leaned into her, his free hand running lightly down her bloody face. "If you tell me, I might not kill you…" His voice trailed off as he licked the blood from his fingers.
"You know I'll die before I tell you a damned thing, fang face." She whispered weakly. The vampire's face lit with rage at the girl's refusal.
"So be it!" He pulled her against his chest with that inhuman speed, and held her there as she struggled in vain. He held her to him with one powerful arm as he swept her crimson hair from her neck. A light whimper escaped her as his fangs sunk into the flesh. The vampire locked his mouth over the wound, and drank the flowing blood, dropping her after just a few short minutes, which seemed like and eternity to the girl.
After she hit the ground, Cigi didn't move until her mouth was so full of blood that she had to roll onto her side to spit. She opened her eyes to see her fellow warrior and best friend on the ground a few feet away with a dagger in her stomach.
'Is she dead? Don't be dead, please,' Cigi thought as she crawled to her comrade. She collapsed at her side, curling up against her. "Don't be fuckin' dead, Jaci, please," she whispered as the world around her faded into darkness.

Rayn hung a few feet off of the ground, suspended by the steel chains that held her to the stone wall of the dim room, pretending to be unconscious. She tried to think of some kind of plan to get out of this hell, but she couldn't concentrate knowing that if she opened her eyes she would see her twin being beat for the information on the scrolls. It was hard enough just hearing her sister being kicked around.
'To hell with it!' She thought. 'I'll just go along with whatever happens!' Bracing herself for the fall, knowing that she was far to injured to catch herself, she muttered, "Vinculum Migroi" The locks that were once securing the chains around the wrists and ankles opened at once, causing her to drop to the blood coated stone floor.
The two guards quickly turned in unison at the dull thump as she landed. "Momentum Prohibeo!" Rayn nearly yelled as the massive men started towards her. As soon as the words left her mouth, the guards froze in place, as if time had stopped. She scrambled to her sisters side, praying that she was okay.
"Diamond! Can you hear me? How bad are you hurt? Is anything broken? Ca…" Rayn's questions were cut off.
"They're dieing" Diamonds voice was no more than a whisper as she spoke, but it was enough to get Rayn's attention.
