So I was sitting here thinking about the movie Teasure Planet when it hit me. Jim was the main character (the hero), but Doppler seemed to have everything better than him. Or does he? Enjoy!
HE lost his father when he was young, but DOPPLER just moved in. A guy he had only seen occassionally before just moved in on his mom.
HE found the map and was the only one capable of opening it, but DOPPLER was given the credit with finding Treasure Planet because he was the one who funded it.
HE had his and his mother's Inn burn to the ground, but DOPPLER had his huge mansion and his pile of money.
HE had to work the entire time he was on the journey, but DOPPLER got to prance around the ship and take it easy.
HE was the hero that saved everyone from being blown up, but DOPPLER got the drop-dead-gorgeous girl. (Although, he'd never say that about Amelia in front of her face.)
So this would make anyone a bit jealous, right? WRONG! Jim didn't go to the Acadamy for nothing. He had to look at it from both sides.
Yes, his father left. But Doppler's parents were killed when he was 3, and he might of only seen Doppler a few times but he and his father were best friends. Plus he didn't exactly move in on his mom. He only came to support her for her losing of her husband.
Doppler was given the credit of finding Treasure Planet because they didn't want Jim being followed by the press. Doppler got chased down by the press every day of every hour. Doppler said he was lucky if he got sleep, or time to spend with Amelia.
When the Inn burned down, Doppler willingly let him and his mom stay at his mansion with him. His money was inheiritance from when his grandfather, his last relative, passed away when he was 24. It had to come with a price.
Doppler didn't exactly have nothing to do. He was an astrophysisit, so the Captain used him whenever possible. Which was pretty much all the time. He had to pretty much all of his time with the woman that made it her personal task to make of him.
Like he said before, Amelia always teased him. It was her way of expressing her feelings for him. She had to torture him, and Jim was really, REALLY glad he didn't have to go through that. Doppler could keep her. He also had 4 kids, and at times it seemed Amelia was the head of the family.
So in reality he couldn't say anything. They both had it hard. But neither would want to change their life in anyway.
