Kaya let out a long breath as she lifted her head to the sky, craning her head this way and that to relieve the tension in her neck. She had been immobile, sitting in the same position to peer down from the sky for a couple hours now, intently observing the mortals as they went about their business. - In fact, she was observing one specific mortal.

"Still watching Zeno?" came a voice from behind her.

"Oh, Guen. Hey."

"You worry too much about the idiot," he said as he reached out to ruffle her hair affectionately, "he'll be fine."

"Kaya knows, but Kaya can't help it," she replied with a frown.

"Be careful, keep frowning and you'll get wrinkles," a voice teased from behind the tree.

"Hey!" Kaya pouted, "That's mean Shuten!"

Said person merely smirked and gave her an innocent look that said who me?

"But really, don't worry so much, 'kay?"

"Hai…" was the dejected reply, "but Kaya doesn't understand. Why doesn't Zeno join Hiryuu-sama and the others? Kaya - Kaya just doesn't want to see him alone anymore…"

"He'll come to his senses soon enough," Abi said, "All we can do is wait." On either side of him, Guen and Shuten nodded empathetically until -

"Wait, WHEN DID YOU GET HERE?!"

"Tch," Abi said disdainfully, "As if I'd be discovered by the likes of you."

"What did you just say?" Guen asked menacingly as a white, clawed hand flexed and clenched.

"My, my," Abi continued on airily as if he hadn't heard a word, "It seems that all this time spent up here has made you guys soft."

Shuten raised a high, aristocratic eyebrow while stepping forward languorously, the green scales on his foot gleaming in the sun, "Who went soft?"

"You," Abi said sweetly, and uncovered the bandages on his eyes.

Laughing nervously, Kaya sweat-dropped.
