When a stray carbon Qwaser is spotted, Teresa is sent out to get him on Athos' side. At the last minute, Tomo decides to join, she absolutely wants to play a role in the war. When they find him, he's already talking with the Adepts. The girls desperately try to convince him to change sides, but they seem to fail as the Adepts slowly make him approach.
Suddenly, the Adepts rage out and tie him. Tomo and Teresa are powerless watching him getting kidnapped. He fress himself and fights back. He taps on the trunk of a tree to 'knock on wood' and the entire tree shatters. The pieces spin around his raising hands and turn into black chunks. Next, he shows two sticks who automatically rub at each other until they catch fire. He steers the burning sticks to the chunks, waits until they are red and fires them to the Adepts. They immediately get serious burn marks, but after a while they start to counter. The strange Qwaser transforms the chunks into a shield and blocks even the iron. He runs to a grass field and lays his hand down. The grass turns into even more chunks and he fuses them in tiny, deadly arrows. Eventually, the Adeps flee.
The Qwaser tries to leave when Tomo & Teresa call him. At first, the Qwaser wants to stay on himself, but eventually, Teresa convinces him she fights the Adepts, and Tomo's sweet-looking faces make him overstep the mark.
