Its just the beginning

LUCY' POV

It was a normal day and I was travelling to Magnolia to begin my college. I had gotten admission in the famous Fairy Tail university the most prestigious university of the country and I was really excited to begin my new life. As it was a long journey I started reading a novel to pass the time. It was a really good romantic story and I was a total sucker for romance.

"Is that seat taken?", a voice interrupted me from my fantasy world. A strange man stood there carrying a suitcase and a laptop bag. I couldn't make out his face much because his hoodie was pulled deep over his face.

"No, go ahead. Make yourself comfortable", I muttered seriously hoping that he was not one of those dangerous types or even worse a weirdo. He arranged his luggage and flopped down opposite to me. He sighed deeply and slowly pulled down his hoodie to reveal a sculptured face and holy hell! was that spiky pink hair! I stared stupefied at his face for a few seconds trying to take in his strange appearance. But somehow he pulled of the look perfectly, like nothing was unusual and it sort was sort of natural for him.

"You do realise that you are staring, right?" he cocked an eyebrow at me.

"I wasn't staring" I mumbled slightly blushing at the fact that he indeed had caught me staring. He shook his head and smiled slightly.

"What?" I quipped obviously a bit flustered.

"I read once that people guilty of something decline the accusation on the first go even when caught red handed" he said.

"I was not staring" I said in a slightly raised voice.

"And that is followed by a raise in the voice pitch" he added coyly.

"Okay okay I give up. Sorry." I admitted my defeat. "It's just that your appearance sort of surprised me." I added.

"Well not your fault, I am just that handsome." He grinned at me.

I just smirked at that remark but suddenly felt a bit hot around my neck and ears because he was definitely handsome.

"I am Natsu Dragneel" he said offering me his hand.

"Lucy Heartfilia" I shook his hand as I looked into his dark onyx eyes.

"So where are you going Lucy?" he asked.

"Magnolia. I am starting my studies in Fairy Tail university. What about you?" I said.

"Really?" he started excitedly. "Guess what I have the same destination as well and yes I too am starting my first year in Fairy Tail." he told me.

"What a coincidence"? I smiled at him.

"There are no coincidences Luce." he smiled. "I don't know how or why but I have a feeling that this is going to be a very interesting journey for both of us." he flashed me his toothy grin once again and I felt something flutter in my stomach.

Maybe this was the beginning of my own romantic story. I didn't know at that time but it was like the whole universe said to me that Lucy your life is about to change and its going to be full of surprises.

"I look forward to it." I smiled warmly at him taking in his pink hair, his deep onyx eyes and his bright grin which seemed to have lit up something in me.
