Prompt: My Happy Ending – Avril Lavigne
Penelope looked at Derek like he was crazy. She couldn't help it but then again she didn't try to stop the laugh that bubbled out of her throat. She didn't understand why her Chocolate God of thunder or her Hot Stuff was saying what he was saying. She didn't want to believe him but yet she could tell the words he spoke were the truth too. She could see that reflected in his eyes.
She had the thought run through her mind maybe I'm finally getting my happy ending as she looked up at Derek and whispered "Do you care to say that again Hot Stuff?"
Derek laughed and cupped Penelope's face in both of his hands and looked her straight in the eye and said "Goddess I love you. I not only love you but I am in love with you. You are the last person I think about as I fall asleep and you are the first person I think about as I open my eyes. I'm just sorry that it has taken me this long to tell you how I feel. I am pretty sure I fell for you the first time I saw you all those years ago."
Penelope's heart about beat its way out of her chest as she said breathlessly "I am getting my happy ending. I love you too Hot Stuff. I'm pretty sure that I fell for you to the first time I saw you."
Derek smiled and pulled Penelope the rest of the way into him before his head swooped down claiming her lips in a long overdue passionate kiss.
