Lines

Notes: Well...
There are lines that are not meant to be crossed, they appear on the ground, on the air, on every surface that exist at one moment in space and time; they are incredibly tall and thick and impossible wide. They mark the instant after a word, a gesture, is expressed, and everything changes. And something as simple as "I'm sorry" becomes an unbreachable wall.
Shizuru knew that this was going to happen someday, preferable a day ten years from now and after a couple of dates or at least a relationship, but never thought that today will be right now. She hadn't forced the issue, she had been bidding her time, and she had acted like the friend that Natsuki had always known.
Of course seeing as Natsuki now had other friends she could notice the differences. Like how Shizuru's gaze rested a moment more after uncomfortable, or how her hugs lasted a little too long, or how she tried to find every excuse, every chance, to touch her.
She only had herself to blame, it was true that she had given Natsuki time to sort her feelings, but also she hadn't fight the temptation that the dark haired girl was to her, and because of that Natsuki had made the decision before the answer was favorable to her. Although she knew it was never going to be favorable to begin with.
She had lost. She was lost. And now there was a line in front of her with a little piece of paper with the word "sorry" scribbled upon it, and she couldn't cross it. Because she had done so before and she had been near to losing everything, to lose every piece of Natsuki. She couldn't cross the line because she preferred to have a small piece of her than nothing at all.
"It's okay Natsuki, I understand. Still friends?" She was a damn masochist.

Notes: Is it me, or everything degenerates after the first paragraph? Sorry it's too damn short.
To those that care Nightmares and Dreams will update before December 30 (can say an exact date cause chapter 3 doesn't want to play with chapter 4).
