Snape's POV
Severus Snape had never cared for a child before. He admitted that he wasn't ready for this challenge, but if he didn't, the poor boy would have to deal with is remarkably cruel aunt and uncle. Yes, Severus was going to take care of Harry Potter.
He had decided to do this when Albus Dumbledore had told him of the attack on the Potters. The Dark Lord, Voldemort had killed Harry's parents, but failed to kill Harry himself.
Severus opened the door to the bedroom and set the sleeping child on the bed. He conjured a crib by the window and put Harry in it when he heard a knock on the door.
It was Dumbledore. "You have the boy, Severus?" "Yes, Albus." "Hagrid told me that Harry wasn't at the house. Are you sure that you are ready for this responsibility?" "Yes. Now, if you'll excuse me, Albus, I have a one-year-old to tend to. Good day."
Severus closed the door.
