Friendships of the Emblem
Disclaimer: I still don't own any of the Fire Emblem franchise, much to my disappointment.
Author's Note: So these are just some drabbles/one shots of friendships and relationships in the Fire Emblem series. Drabbles of any games. Also if you either pm me or put it in a review I'll take requests for pairings to write. Though this stuff will be purely T rated.
The Unexpected Rivalry of Sain and Kent
He had not seen this coming. Of all the woman in the camp that Sain could flirt with he had to pick her.
Or, Kent thought to himself, he had already flirted with all the women in the camp and he had made his way around to her.
Kent brought his palm to his head as he sat in his tent. All of the things that have been happening were finally getting to his head. He was supposed to be the serious and composed one. Sain was the flirtatious, failure of a ladies man, Lowen was the young, inexperienced mop top, Marcus was the strong, experienced one and Isadora was the strong, elegant and confident woman.
He didn't know what was worse though. That Sain was flirting with the only woman in the camp that he fancied or that Sain's awful and tacky techniques seemed to actually work on her. And that is what truly surprised Kent. She would laugh at Sain's jokes and act so enthusiastically when the two of them talked.
Face palming yet again Kent fall back onto his bedroll in the empty tent. Their band would be eating dinner right about now with the pirate crew, but there recent trip on the pirate ship to the Dread Isle had upset quite a few stomachs. He knew for a fact that Guy had retreated to the tents as soon as they were set up, he was not appreciative of the mode of transport in the least. But who could blame him, their band of land fighters were no crew of seadogs, spare Dart, who actually was a pirate himself.
Kent rolled to the right so that he now took up not only his own bedroll but Lowen's as well. Sometimes when no one else was around he liked to indulge himself a bit, even if it is just taking up more space in the tent.
"My dearest maiden Fiora I am afraid we must part ways for now as I must search for my oldest and dullest friend," Sain practically yelled from outside the tent.
Kent twitched in annoyance as Sain described him as 'dull', rolled back onto his own bed roll and twitched again as he realised that Sain was with Fiora, again.
A flutter could be heard as Sain opened the tent's flaps so that he could enter. Without a word Sain jumped onto Lowen's bed roll and looked directly at Kent a stupid and drunk smile stretched across his face.
"Kent! Did you know that you are my dearest and oldest friend?" Sain asked loudly to his dearest and oldest friend.
"Yes…" Kent answered trailing off as he thought a bit. "Well, half of it anyway."
Kent turned over so he had his back to Sain so that the green knight would take the hint and leave him alone. No such luck. Sain simply climbed over Kent and onto the side that he was facing.
"C'mon Kent. Let's talk a bit… Why are you in here? All cooped up." Sain asked acting completely perplexed.
"I feel sick… must have been the trip over here," Kent answered as his brow furrowed in annoyance.
It's now or never, Kent thought to himself.
"So how are things with Fiora?" Kent asked nonchalantly.
Sain rose a single eyebrow and there was silence between the two of them for at least a minute before Sain answered.
"Well, she's nice and everything but she just won't stop talking or asking about you," Sain answered a devious smile playing on his lips. "Then again that's the whole reason I'm talking to one as fine as this anyway."
Kent's eyes widened in shock at this. "Sain, you mean to tell me that you-"
"Hush, my oldest friend. You think I would not know if you were to fancy someone. I assure you that if you ere to fancy someone, it would be plainly obvious."
Kent's face was stricken with pure gratitude as Sain revealed the truth to him.
"Sain, thank you," Kent said with the most sincerity he had ever given towards anything as he brought Sain into a hug.
A flap could be heard from the opening of the tent as Lowen entered the tent, he looked at the two warriors embracing each other on the same bed roll as the two warriors looked back at him, the green one with the widest smile and the red one a look of utter shock.
"Oh sorry, I-I didn't- I wasn't aware… I'm gonna go…" Lowen stuttered before bolting out of the tent.
Kent realising what Lowen had thought Kent once again slapped his forehead, falling back onto the bed roll as Sain leapt to his feet and chasing Lowen out of the tent, shouting for him to join them.
"Just my luck," Kent said to himself before turning to face the wall.
Though I have to admit, I could never have a better friend than Sain, Kent smiled to himself before he started to think about how he could approach Fiora.
