Her life she had been called 'Tragically Beautiful', but why tragic? Yes, she has been condemned to a hideous chair, but why does that change how beautiful she is?
Her father upon seeing how tense she was asked, "Nessa, my precious flower, are you alright?" Concern laced his voice, she heard it. Why doesn't he talk to Fabala with concern, or even love for that matter?
She decided to let it slide, her father must care for Elphaba if he hasn't thrown her on the streets, probably just doesn't hear enough of their conversations. "I was thinking," NessaRose stated.
"Thinking what, Darling?"
"All these stupid pet names!'" The wheelchair bound girl, heard Elphaba mutter, agitation lacing that voice.
"ELPHABA, CAN'T YOU SEE I'M TALKING TO YOUR SISTER, NOT YOU!" He bellowed at the pissed off green teenager, who stalked off to her room, Nanny close on her heels.
"Daddy, that was rude!" The precious flower screeched, but much to her dismay she sounded like a petulant child. Why, she asked the Unnamed God, silently.
"Oh Sweetie, if you knew all the things she did to this family you'd understand. So, my dear, what was it you were thinking?" He changed the conversation quickly. Nessa was much to dear, he would hate to ruin it with her older siblings faults.
She noticed, but decided to keep to herself, " I was wondering why am I called 'Tragically Beautiful', instead of just beautiful?"
He grimaced, Elphaba was good at playing psychiatrist, and tricking people into believing what she needed them too, that imp she was. "Because my rose," he started nervously. "Since you have a monster of a sister, and are held captive by your wishes you're tragic. But Oz knows you're the most beautiful girl ever."
Nanny watched the conversation that took place years ago, that now seemed like a millennium.
Now she watched as Nessa abused her power, she became addicted to it. Using it for every whim she had, as if it was her slave. Elphaba was around, saving the world's Animals.
Now she decided Frexspar was wrong, as always. Elphaba is 'Tragically Beautiful', her younger sister on the other hand was 'Beautifully Tragic' as the green girl had once called herself. Because that was what she was forced to believe, because majority overrules a few people.
No they had it all wrong,
Nessa was wicked, however much Nanny hated to admit it.
Elphaba was beautiful, and no matter what, Elphaba wouldn't let that change.
She would encourage it, let it grow over the years. Nessa would abuse the power for her own deeds. The powerful sisters have always been this way, but the world was too blind to see it.
