"What will happen to me Master?" Asked a confused and frightened Seras Victoria.
"My dear Police Girl, you will die" Said Alucard in low monotone.
"Still Police Girl my Master?" Questioned Seras with a smile in her voice and on her face.
"No, Seras, not Police Girl, never Police Girl." He said with a smile tugging at his lips. How could she be so bright and happy even in these times amazed him.
"I feel pr- pretty dumb Master, like a waste of your time. I got a one-in-a-million chance and I only used it for what…..3 years?"
"2 years 8 months 1 week 20 hours and 14 minutes, Seras and you wasted not a second of it. You were well worth my time. But I feel I must ask you Seras, are you afraid of Death? You once again look it between the eyes and you do not shiver or tremble. Why Seras?"
"If I tell you you'll laugh at me." She said while turning red with embarrassment.
"And when exactly will I do that? You have less than 3 minutes on this Earth." He said gravely.
"Because……..If I die now I'll die happy." She couldn't meet his eyes after that.
"Im glad for that, Seras." He had now sat down on the blood-stained ground and taken her small form into his big lap. After a few precious seconds of silence she broke it.
"It's a curious thing death is. It can make a person do things they wouldn't normally to avoid it. It has driven millions mad and yet it is the biggest amount of peace a person can get you know?"
" I wouldn't know." Said Alucard faintly after a few more seconds.
"Master I'm sorry you won't die" She said after some thought.
"And why would that be my precious Draculina?" He asked, even though he nalready knew the answer.
"Because…I love you Master and I know it would make you happy. Please Master. Be happy." She was redder than the ground she was sitting on.
And before he could reply she was gone. A pile of dust which blew away in the wind. So much cleaner than the humans that they had stood on. The truth was he did love her and he would miss her but he could not dwell on these things. He did make a vow though. Never again would he take a fielding other than her. He surveyed the surrounding area to make sure that every human and werewolf alike was dead. The son-of-a-bitch werewolf had better be glad he was already dead by the time he got there or else his death would have been a lot more painful. Biting a vampire! It was against the nightwalkers code. He needed to kill….no to massacre. He needed to be out of his head there was to much raw emotion in there. He needed another Millenuim just tons of mindless killing. She hated that.
Looking over his shoulder Alucard saw that the sun was rising. It was time to go home.
Three Years Later
"He just hasn't been himself since she passes, Walter." Said Integra after a glance at her pet.
" I don't know what to tell you Integra. I think she was the closest he has ever came to being attached to something and now shes gone." Said the aged butler wisely.
"I'm relasing him Walter. I'm letting him go. We don't need him anymore." She said it with a finality that made It easy to tell she had thought on this for some time.
The Next Day
"Alucard?" Called Integra. Within 30 seconds Alucard appered with a blank face and empty eyes.
"Yes my master?" He asked dully.
"You are free" She said with a strong voice while cutting the palm of her hand over a spellbook.
"But before you go, may I ask you something, Count?" Integra asked inquisitively.
"Anything Integra" He added with some emotion.
"What will you do?"
"I will be where I was always meant to be….with her."
