Disclaimer: I don't own Digimon, the concept, or its characters. They belong to Bandai, Toei Animation, Saban... maybe others as well. I'm merely using them for my own personal enjoyment. Please don't sue
Notes: This is a response to one of nine prompts that a friend left in my LiveJournal. The prompt used here is: video game tournaments.
And I should so be shot for using that YGO GX dub phrase. -deadpans-
This takes place sometime after season two.

Get Your Game On!
By: Daystar-chan
Ken was sure it had something to do with Daisuke gloating that he could beat any of them at Nintendo games, and Iori was sure that Takeru had taken the challenge only to shut Daisuke up. (Implied Daiyako, implied Takari)

Ken and Iori were curled up on either ends of the couch with the Digimon, all watching the sight in front of them with amusement.
None of them really had an idea what started it all, but Ken was sure it had something to do with Daisuke gloating that he could beat any of them at Nintendo games, and Iori was sure that Takeru had taken the challenge only to shut Daisuke up.
The only reason Hikari had come along, Ken mused, was to cheer her boyfriend on. Miyako, on the other hand, was there to challenge both boys and prove her own dominance - even if it meant showing up her own boyfriend. So far, she had been doing a pretty nice job.
"Miiiiyako!" Daisuke whined, watching as his character of choice (Toad) was squashed violently by Bowser. That lightning was going to be the death of him in this game.
The lavendar-haired girl smirked. "That was payback for the red turtle shells earlier, Dai-chan."
Takeru merely snickered as he watched his mini-Yoshi slowly pass the flattened Toad.
"Well, you shouldn't have been in front of me when I shot them!" Daisuke defended, finally able to move again. Miyako was already at the finish line, and he was sure Takeru would get there before he could.
"All's fair in love, war, and Mario Kart, Daisuke," his girlfriend chirped, setting her controller down as soon as she crossed the finish line.
"She's got a point," Takeru said simply, growling when he ran into a banana peel. He saw Daisuke catching up to him and briefly wished he had something to throw backwards at the boy.
Daisuke sighed as he and Takeru raced for second place. "Remind me to never invite you guys over for another game tournament."
Everyone laughed.
