Deeks. Just deeks. Martin deeks was his father, that bastard. A man Deeks hoped

never to become. A man who drank even the smallest problems away. A man who would hit his wife and daughter when they didnt know their place. A man who Deeks dispised with his entire being. A man Deeks wanted nothing to do with for the rest of his life.

Only his mother and sister were ever allowed to call him Marty. To them Marty is caring, overprotective, and now the male figure of the Deeks family. His sister did the smart thing and got the hell out of town. Hitching a full ride to Georgetown and following in his footsteps as an undercover metro PD detective, followed by marrying his best friend for high school. His mother is still to haunted by the mistakes made in her marriage, and can barely support herself with her non existent college degree. To them Marty was the protector, the protector from the monster Martin Allen Deeks had become. The only chance they had.

The people he worked with all had issues they had to overcome. They were all broken pieces of the same mirror. And somehow they worked. Deeks wasn't sure how, but somehow they understood why he was just Deeks, and not Marty, there were no questions, just a cold shoulder from Sam, a mutual understanding from Callen, and a building trust from Kensi. He was just Deeks, or in Hetty's case Mr. Deeks. And he was finally in a spot where he was finally happy after 30 years of hiding behind a facade.

After work he would usually go out to the local bar his friend owned and just try to forget the reality of the case he might be working on. Drink a few beers with friends, and maybe pick up a lady friend. He always introduces himself as "Deeks, just Deeks." because he can't face the fact that as soon as he becomes Marty Deeks all the memories if his childhood come to face. He never drinks to much just enough to feel the buzz, but never enough to loose control, because that is when Martin Deeks comes out. The man he has been trying to hide with jokes and laughter. The man his father always knew he would become.

He was Deeks, Just Deeks, Marty only existed to his mother. His sister even started calling him Deeks. Marty was a name he was given at birth, not the name he chose. He chose Deeks.

Just Deeks.
