Hi again! I know this is sort of rapid fire but instead of being a one-shot, I'm going to make this a story. It'll probably be shorter than whatever J & K ends up being, but y'know, what can you do? It might be longer, for all I know! By weeks end I'll have one more chapter of J & K up as well as the 2nd Chapter of Ain't No Sunshine ( ANS). Sounds good? Please review!

Love,

Lil

Wasabi International was a freaking maze.

Everywhere I looked there were women in business outfits talking intensely into their Bluetooth's, men in suits wearing glasses and carrying briefcases like their life depended on it, and really, really grumpy women in their forties looking like they'd give up an arm and leg for a date.

Tugging on the edge of my suit I suddenly felt very small and infinitesimal, a back town country girl trying to pass for a refined business woman. The short sleeved ice-blue silk blouse I was wearing paired with a charcoal skirt and ivory open toed heels seemed dreadfully out of place. The three interwoven gold chains on my neck seemed to bright, the elegant chignon with escaping blonde curls to flashy, my slightly dusky makeup to showy.

What the hell am I even doing here? Ma was right. I didn't fit in here and would never fit in here. I should just go back to Tennessee, I'm sure Kate wouldn't mind me getting that waitress position back, Daddy might be a bit disappointed but he and Caden can just get over it-

Oh.

Nathan.

That's why I was here.

Squaring my shoulders, I mustered up the courage to walk with purpose to the nearest secretary, tapping briskly on the marble countertop.

"Hello-I'm Kimberly Crawford, I'm supposed to be meeting Grace Wexler?"

The secretary gave me a blank stare.

"The head of business?"

Recognition dawned in her eyes.

"Right through that door-and good luck."
