"What the hell?" Mia stared at the piece of parchment that had just been thrust into her hand. She turned to see that her two friends also had a piece of parchment. They looked at each other in puzzlement. They had only been in Hogwarts for a few hours, only just coming out of the sorting. Emily shrugged and turned the parchment over in her hands studying it closely.

"Maybe it's enchanted" Rachel suggested tapping it with her new wand. The strange new 'gift' stayed blank.

"Or maybe it is just a piece of parchment" smirked Mia as Rachel failed to produce anything. Emily gave a startled squeak as dark writing formed across her paper. Glancing round she found the same happening on the others. Quietly she read the title.

"The Unofficial rules of Hogwarts?" Rachel read shaking her head.

1) Do not ask Professor Snape when we are making love potion number 9.

2) Do not fill Lockhart's office with mirrors or he will never leave

3) Do not attempt to try and prove that the wardrobe in Narnia is in fact a Vanishing Cabinet.

4) You must not pull on Professor Dumbledore's beard to see if it is stuck to his face with glue.

5) If you value your free time do not attempt to put a tutu on Professor McGonagall when she is in cat form.

6) Do not stick Ravenclaws' to the ceiling.

7) Stop filling the Hufflepuff common room with badgers.

8) NEVER greet Professor McGonagall with 'What's New Pussycat?'…don't sing it either!

9) Do not use Cedric Diggory as a Defence Against the Dark Arts vampire project.

10) Do not make clip clop noises around Umbridge.

"What?" Mia exclaimed as she reread the 'rules' "is this a joke?" Rachel looked equally bemused whereas Emily looked thoughtful
"You never know…we may actually have to follow these rules. I have heard stories about this school…" she jumped violently as a prefects voice rang out calling for Ravenclaws. She said goodbye to her friends and scampered off after the herd of first years. Other calls caught Mia and Rachel's attention.
"Hey the writing has gone!" Rachel gasped before parting to follow Gryffindor. Mia just shrugged and followed her fellow Slytherins' down into the dungeons.

Well? Should we continue? The students will vanish every now and again.
