I thought that Reyna would go to her mother for guidance if she needed it. Hope you enjoy it!
Reyna stood on the steps of her mother's temple. It was quiet and peaceful on the hill. She came here for company. She felt that she could relate to her mother here. Reyna could trust her mother here.
Reyna had problems with trust. Jason, her co-praetor, had left with Greeks, and that girl Piper. The Greeks seemed to have been planning a attack since they had heard about the Romans. Jason had told them.
She didn't have any idea of what to think. Jason had been with them for years, and when he had left, he'd changed. But did that really mean he would purposely Try to attack the camp? That didn't sound like the Jason that Reyna knew, but times change. Do they change a person that much?
And Percy was another issue. Percy had trusted them. Did that mean that he was in league with the Greeks? Or maybe he hadn't known. It was certainly a possibility.
Octavian had told her that Leo had fired the cannon on the camp. Could she really trust him? Could she really trust anybody?
Reyna's head spun as she traveled down that train of thought. She had no idea who to trust, whether it was Jason, or Percy, or (may the gods forbid) Octavian, but she did know she was on tender ground. Old battle scars were being opened and arguments were being brought up with one of Rome's enemies, and Reyna shuddered at the aftermath. She was desperate for anything that might save both sides from bloodshed.
Reyna stood and entered the temple. She looked up her mother's statue. Mother, what should I do? I don't know what to do. Please, if there is anything you can do to stop the bloodshed, I would follow it to the letter. Just, what can I do? Reyna prayed.
She stayed there for another hour, trying to think of something that could save her home.
