Shirley?
Spoilers for Scooby Doo Adventures: Mystery Map.
Norville "Shaggy" Rogers and Scooby Doo sighed in the courtyard of Grimwood's Finishing School for Girls. They had put Scrappy with Scooby's sister and went back to Grimwood's for the first time in seven months.
Ms Grimwood was actually more than happy to welcome them back and gave them their old jobs of gym instructors. The new students warmed up to them and Sibella, Winnie, Tanis, Elsa and Phantasm were jumping for joy to have their old teachers back.
Then came to them was Ms Grimwood saying "Shaggy, Scooby we will be having a new groundskeeper coming here today, would you please be darlings and welcome her here!"
"Reah!" Scooby said.
"You can count on us Ms Grimwood." Shaggy said with a smile. Soon they were at the gates and then came into the driveway was a van.
Shaggy and Scooby came to greet whoever this new groundskeeper was. Then came out a young woman about Shaggy's age with black hair, a yellow shirt and a sleeveless jacket.
The woman looked as if she knew them and just recognised them, "Oh wow, it's nice seeing you two again." The woman said smiling.
Scooby and Shaggy just looked confused. "Like do we know you?" asked Shaggy trying to see if he recognised her.
"It has been years and you probably last saw me being unmasked as Gnarlybeard." The woman said and then Shaggy and Scooby then realising what she was talking about.
"Wait you were Shirley, the assistant to Dr Escobar who turned out to be the pirate ghost!" Shaggy said and Shirley smiled.
Years ago when they were kids Shaggy found a treasure map in his delivered Pizza which belonged to a pirate named Gnarlybeard. It was stolen by a Phantom Parrot. When they were trying to get it back they ran into the mean Dr Escobar and her young assistant Shirley.
The Parrot turned out to be the Pizza delivery boy Stu and they were also attacked by the pirate Gnarlybeard who turned out to be Shirley, who was Stu's sister and they were descendants of Gnarlybeard.
"What are you two doing here?" Shirley asked.
"Like we work here, we are the gym coaches." Shaggy said and Scooby nodded.
"Like double wow, sorry about forcing you to be my pirate crew all those years ago." Shirley said in an apologetic tone "me and Stu have both turned over a new leaf, I promise!"
"It's alright Shirley." Shaggy said smiling. "How have you been all of this time?"
"After doing my community service for what I have done Dr Escobar let me continue being her assistant." Shirley said "She has retired now and I was even the maid of honour at her wedding to Lighthouse Keeper Louie!"
Scooby and Shaggy both cringed, the idea of the creepy lighthouse keeper and the mean archaeologist was tough to swallow (saying a lot for them).
"I guess we will be able to catch up as we work here." Shirley said and then came out of her van was a cat who went up to Scooby purring.
"Looks like my cat remembers you." Shirley laughed before Shaggy realised something.
"Wait but wasn't it just a disguise?" asked Shaggy curiously.
"Not really I just used the cat mask just in case I got caught, she stowed away on the ship before I set sail on the ocean." Shirley said as the two teachers went up into the gate with their pets.
Unknown to them the students were watching. "Coach Rogers has a girlfriend with the groundskeeper!" Phantasma laughed.
"It will be fangtastic to meet this new teacher." Sibella said as they were getting ready to help make their new teacher welcome.
Yeah this came to me after I saw Mystery Map, I saw the DVD in my local ASDA (a British chain of supermarkets, I come from the UK) and the idea of a puppet Scooby Doo movie tempted me too much that I had to buy it. I will be interested in more possible puppet Scooby films and maybe see Shirley again, thought it would be unlikely.
