Of course, I do not own "Beyblade" or any affiliated characters; all such belong to Takao Aoki. :)

Tremble
"You're surrounded by people and voices and noises, but there you are, alone and trembling inside. And you want to be invisible. (Thinking) Please don't notice me."
—Kellie Elmore, "Jagged Little Pieces"
'Shit,' she thought, shocked to the core, her normally sun-kissed face paling considerably. 'Shit, shit, shit…it's him. It's really him.'
And there he stood, a few feet taller than the last time she'd seen him, shoulders a bit broader, hips a tad narrower, legs longer; in short, he was all grown up, the only familiarity being the two-toned shade of his hair and those piercing crimson eyes.
Those eyes she'd recognize anywhere.
Heart pounding, hands trembling, she panicked internally, 'Oh God, it's him, it's really him, and he hasn't changed at all—but he has, everything's changed yet it still feels the same—like he hasn't been gone all this time, like he never left—but he did leave and I can't forget, can't allow myself to forget—forgive—because if I do…' She breathed in deeply, shakily, wrestling for control even as she stalked towards him, the perfect image of a cool, calm and collected woman.
Her knees trembled with every step, threatening to fold under her suddenly too-heavy weight, even as she clenched her fingers in tight fists in order to control their own traitorous quivering. She could do this, she could—she wasn't that young girl anymore, the one he'd gained the upper hand over so easily in a moment of confused vulnerability. No, she was fucking Miah Kon, a grown-ass woman who had her shit straight, damn it, and no one, least of all Kai Hiwatari, would take that from her—not now, not ever…and especially not ever again.
'Can't forget,' she reminded herself grimly as she came to stand before him, looking up into oh-so familiar, yet completely foreign, crimson eyes. They gazed upon one another, a moment frozen in time, recognizing yet discovering, all the while thinking the very same thing.
'If I forget—or worse, forgive—what was done, these trembles will become earthquakes and I'll plummet into that chasm…again.'
Thanks for reading! :D
I know this is really ambiguous as to what happened between them, but it was meant to be that way; of course, I know, but I wrote their story sooo... ;p Yeah, maybe one day you'll get to read the entirety of it... *fingers crossed*
Hope you enjoyed! Reviews are love! :D
