"If I could give you the world on a silver platter, would it even matter? You'd still be mad at me"
David turns around after seeing Kurt in the corridor, looking miserable. He starts to walk away, back to the football fields, when he realises just how he can get his feelings out. GLEE CLUB!
"If I could find all this in a dozen roses that I would give to you, you'd still be miserable"
He walks to the choir room 5 minutes before class was due to start and sits down waiting for the members of the New Directions to walk in. Kurt and Rachel are the first to walk in, deep in conversation about what they would like to sing if they got through to Nationals this year. Soon after Puck enters the room, and immediately notices Dave.
"What are you doing here, man?" Puck shouts loudly.
At hearing Puck's shouts, Rachel looks up, sees who it is, and then stands up whilst holding her hand out to Kurt. Being the only one who knows about 'THE INCIDENT' Rachel starts to pull Kurt towards the door and out of the room.
"I need to talk….. Kurt, I need…. Erm" David stammers.
"No, Rachie. Stop. I want to hear what he has to say"
"Kurt, I….. I need to talk to you"
Rachel keeps hold of Kurt's hand to try and keep him away from David, by trying to pull him, once again, out of the room. However, once David gently takes hold of Kurt's other arm, she lets go. Kurt keeps his eye on Karofsky and decides to talk to him more privately, while shaking off David's hold on his hand.
"David, we'll talk in the auditorium. Rach, please tell Mr Shue that I won't be in today"
Kurt walks to his seat and picks up his bag, then picks up David's. He stalks out of the room, closely followed like a sheep dog by Karofsky. Once they arrive at the auditorium, Kurt sits David down in the audience and then he sits on the edge of the stage. David tries to start off a conversation, but Kurt interrupts him in song.
"'Cause in reality, I'm gonna be who I be and I don't need no faults for all the lies that you bought. You can try as you may to bring me down when I say that it ain't up to you. Go on do what you do"
Kurt looks down at David with tears in his eyes but keeps singing.
"Hate on me, hater, now or later, 'cause I'm gonna do me, you'll be mad baby. Go 'head and hate on me, hater, I'm not afraid of what I got paid for. You can hate on me"
Karofsky starts to sing to Kurt as he stands and makes his way towards the stage.
"Ooh, if I gave you peaches, out of my own garden, and I made a peach pie, would you slap me high? Wonder if I gave you diamonds out of my own room, would you feel the love in that? Or ask why not the moon?"
The duo sits down next to each other on the piano and sings the rest of the song together.
"if I gave you sanity for the whole of humanity, and had all the solutions for the pain and pollution, no matter where I live, despite all the things that I give, you'll always be this way. So, go 'head and hate on me, hate, 'cause now or later, I'm gonna do me, you'll be mad baby"
"I don't hate you, darling. It's the exact opposite really!"
