"Oh, Sonikku! Isn't this romantic?" Amy chirped cheerily as they made their way down the sidewalk. Sonic just hummed in response. Amy smiled as she swung their intertwined hands between them. She was so happy that he finally asked her out on a real date.
Well, sort of . . .
Shadow kind of set it up. He said that if he took Amy out on at least one date, Sonic would receive a life time supply of chilly dogs. Of course, Amy would have to pay the price for Shadow-fifty dollars- to do it. She just wondered how he had that many chilly dogs.
But that didn't matter. All that mattered was that she was now walking with Sonic on this lovely evening.
Amy stopped on the side walk to face him. "So, what do you wanna do?"
Sonic was about to answer her when he stopped and looked at something behind her. Then, he laughed. He laughed.
He's not laughing at me is he? Amy wondered silently. She turned around to see what he was chuckling for. But the only thing there was a stop sign. That's it. A stop sign. But it was what was written on the sign that caught her attention.
"DON'T
STOP"
It read, with the 'don't' doodled in marker. Amy couldn't help but giggle. "I guess that is pretty funny." She said turning back to Sonic. "So, my question…?"
"Ya Amy. But, first…..I think I can do better than who ever wrote that." He said, looking around. "Now, where's the nearest stop sign?"
"Sonic…" Amy whined. "We're supposed to be doing something fun!"
"We are." He replied. "What's more fun than this?"
Amy huffed, but followed Sonic anyway. It wasn't long before they found another sign. Sonic turned to her. "Do you have a pen or something?"
Amy sighed as she fished for one in her purse. She brought out a sharpie and handed it to him. He turned back to the sign, and scrawled on its surface. He stepped aside to admire his work, and gave Amy a good view of it.
"STOP
Making Sense"
Amy burst into more giggles. "Brilliant Sonic!"
He smiled back at her and winked. "Wanna find another one?"
Amy shrugged. "I guess, but afterwards, can we please do something else?"
"Alright, alright." He surrendered. "Let's go."
They walked through the streets for a couple of minuets, until they finally found a sign that read,
"WATCH
FOR
ICE"
"This will do." Said Sonic. He stood in front of it for a few moments.
Amy waited.
And waited….
"Sonic? Whaddya doin?"
"I can't figure out what to say…" He mumbled, placing a hand under his chin in thought.
Amy turned toward the sign, then grinned when an idea popped into her head. "I think I do. Get on your knees."
"Eh?" Sonic replied confused.
"I'm a little short." She explained.
"Oh, right." Sonic kneeled down on his hands and knees.
"Oh, and remember to not look up." Amy said, as she stepped onto his back. Sonic was about to ask why, then suddenly recalled she was wearing a skirt.
He heard Amy hum happily as she scribbled on the sign. Seconds later, he heard a soft thump and Amy's red boots were standing next to him.
"Kay." Amy said. "You can get up now."
Sonic stood up and looked at the sign. He nearly toppled over laughing.
On the sign, it said;
"WATCH
FOR
VANILLA
ICE,
ICE BABY"
"Nicely done, Ames!" He said, grinning at her. She beamed.
"Glad you like it, Sonikku! Now….can we go do something?"
Sonic smiled softly. "I couldn't think of anything else I'd rather do."
A/N: Cheesy ending, I know, but I wanted to do a SonAmy like story. Then I thought of a couple of signs I've seen with writing on them, and well...This story was born!
Disclaimer: I do not own Sonic the Hedghog, silly people.
