There was a reason why she didn't let him touch her.
Just like there was a reason he kept pushing for it.
"I don't want to hurt you."
She means that, but in more than one ways. One is for her leech skin; the other is for a more physical, more feral reason.
She tells him that because it would hurt him. Because she knows that it'd be a lie. Just like he knows it.
She'll leave him soon, so he can be with Kitty. So he can be with someone who can touch, who can love him fully.
Because she's only with him as a decoy. Because the person, her most precious person, is off somewhere. He may come back to the mansion, but he's never with her. He's never there anymore.
Not since she died. Not since all that crap happened.
But it never mattered to her. Nothing mattered but him. And although she loves him, and although he doesn't love her back, she can't stay with her decoy anymore. She can't live that lie anymore.
So she'll tell him that she won't touch him because she doesn't want to hurt him. Because it's half the truth. But the other half is the one she's worried about, because it's something that could break him. And although she doesn't love him, she doesn't want that.
But the other half, the one she's afraid of, is that when it all comes out in the end, it won't be next to him she'll be.
She'll be with the feral.

It doesn't matter what you call him, but it'll be him she chooses. It's been that way since she saw him in that cage at Laughlin City. It'll stay that way, too.
So she'll keep pulling away from Bobby's advances, and she'll keep watching him mourn for Jean afar.
And she'll keep up this pretense, this life of hers, just to keep things from falling apart.

First X-Men fic, but it's just a little bunny that popped up when watching X2. I think it's safe to say that I'm the kind of hardcore Rogan shipper that doesn't like Jean or Bobby (although I like them when they're with others, specifically Scott/Jean and Bobby/Kitty, but only cause I like the Scott and Kitty in general and think they deserve happiness)
So I came up with this to make Rogue's view point in X2 be a little more Rogan-y centric :)
