Here is a fic I wrote after Adam, it shows the repercussions and how it effects Ianto.
I walked along the dark alley way looking for her. I saw her. She had ran away from me. She was standing at the corner. It was blocked off. I smiled. I walked to her. She screamed. I put my hand over her mouth and pinned her up against the wall. This one was no fun anymore. I twisted her neck and heard the crack as she broke. I brought out my knife and stabbed her repeatedly in the stomach. The blood splashed on me I licked it. It tasted good. I picked up her lifeless body and put her in the bin opposite us. I walked away. I had to clean up. I had to sleep. I was back out hunting tomorrow.
Ianto screamed. He sat up in bed. He pulled his legs towards him and hugged them. He heard footsteps running towards him. He looked up to see Jack run into the room. Jack ran over to him and sat on the bed.
"What's wrong?" Jack asked soothingly. He was hugging Ianto. Stroking his hair.
"I'm a monster" Ianto whispered. Jack looked at him puzzled
"Ianto Jones you are not a monster, don't be stupid" Jack pulled Ianto's head onto his chest and tried to sooth him.
" I killed that women, that innocent woman" Ianto started sobbing against Jack's chest. Jack did not know what to say. He knew in his heart that Ianto was not possible of such a thing.
"Ianto" He took his hands in his hands " You did not kill anyone, you would not kill anyone, it was just a dream"
"It felt so real" Jack looked at Ianto and saw the look of pain in his eye's.
"I will go and get some mild sleeping pills from the medical cupboard to help you sleep okay?" He kissed Ianto's head and walked out of the room.
Ianto's was scared. Those dreams they felt real. As if he created them. Jack was right he couldn't kill anyone like he had done in the dream. He did not kill people who deserved it. Jack was right. Listen to Jack. He put his forehead on his knees and took some deep breaths. He had to calm down.
Jack returned with the tablets and some water. He handed them to Ianto and Ianto took them happily. Even thought he was scared to close his eyes, he had to admit he was exhausted. He lay down on the bed and Jack tucked him in.Jack sat on the bed and stroked Ianto's head. He decided not to leave him until he was sure he was asleep. It only took Ianto a few minutes to fall asleep.
Once Ianto was asleep Jack removed his hand. Dreams often came with the territory of Torchwood but somehow this dream different. Jack knew by the look in Ianto's eyes. While he stood up and slowly walked out of the room Jack could not help but wonder wither the dreams had something do with the previous 48 hours Jack had made sure everyone forgot.
