The Battle of A Lifetime.
Chapter 1
Playing With Fire
Percy.
You know, I never saw the day, when Leo would voluntarily blow up his own masterpiece!
The Argo II was acting up, and by this point, Leo had dismantled Festus and began to see the light, which we pointed him directly too!
"Can I please destroy this thing now?" He asked Annabeth, who really didn't seem to mind. It was just raining over Camp Half Blood, blocking the sun, and scaring the poop out of other kids.
Since last summer, Annabeth got two new brothers George and Kyle, Hazel had learned a new power and I had travelled by aeroplane! It was about time Leo did something.
Leo lit up his hands, excitement all over his face, her threw his arm up and a flame started brewing on the bottom of the ship. A cheer went up around camp as it lit up like one big firework.
I stood beside Chiron boredly tapping my toes against the marshy grass. Anguish and despair were plastered on his face as I plucked up the courage to quiz him. He's more scary (and wise) then you think.
"Chiron, what are you not telling us?" I asked. The old centaur looked up as if I was crazy. "Nothing Percy, nothing". This was one of his worst lies yet.
He drew a breath and turned to me. "I'm such a bad liar", he smiled. "Percy have you ever heard of the Egyptian gods?" I frowned. "I thought they were just myths". Chiron chuckled and hit my back.
"And look at you here, my boy". I took that into account as Chiron explained the whole story, Annabeth already knew, I'm guessing, but overall I was shocked.
I heard about the Nome's, not G-N-O-M-E, I learned the hard way. I learned about how the Egyptians are hosts for gods, which is weird, and trainees follow gods paths, also weird, but I get it!
"And finally", he said. "The Kane's, intelligent duo them Carter and Sadie, The Party Ponies have told me all about them and their work". Work? What work was this work? "Uhm...go on", I prompted. Chiron stared at the burning ship.
"They train other kids, funny stuff Egyptian magic". I raised an eyebrow. "Magic?" I asked. "As in the bipity- boppity-boo magic?" And with that, Chiron trotted away and gathered the camp for campfire.
"Campers", Chiron spoke. "We need ten of you to travel to Brooklyn, make peace with the Egyptians". A murmur ran around. Ten hands went up. Mine, Annabeth's, Jason's, Piper's, Hazel's, Nico's, Frank's, Leo's, Nyssa's and Thalia, surprisingly went up at the same time. Chiron smiled and nodded.
Annabeth stood up. "Wait", she said. "Why are we going?" Chiron's look turned solemn. "Lady Artemis has sensed a powerful source of evil about to rise, she issued Thalia to go already".
"You leave in the morning", he added. "Dismissed". Chiron never said that, but everyone scattered. I was glad to crash on my bed. "Get some sleep Jackson", I told myself. "You need it".
