Don't Charge Me For the Crime

The unusual pair—Aaron Hotchner and Chloe Matthews quickly scurried out of the office and into the open bullpen. Chloe stayed behind Hotch as not to get caught red-handed. Hotch walked quickly and abruptly as if he had somewhere to be. Just as they were walking out the door, a voice stopped them dead in their tracks.

"Woah woah woah," Morgan called out, "pump your breaks Hotch!"

Hotch turned around, an innocent expression on his face.

"You might as well come out Chloe because we know you're behind him," JJ smirked.

Embarassed, Chloe put her hands up in the air.

"Relax," Morgan teased, "we're not gonna arrest you."

"I know who I want to arrest me," Chloe muttered, barely audible. However, Hotch heard her and lightly swatted her on the back.

"Hey!" she exclaimed, playfully.

"How long as this been going on?" Blake asked.

"Uhhh..." the pair started.

"What about the booking?" Reid asked.

The team looked at him.

"Oh," Reid said.

"A person of interest?" Morgan laughed, "Really?"

"First of all," Hotch began, "she's innocent. And second of all-"

For once in his life, Hotch didn't have any words to say.

"I'm a person of interest anyway," Chloe finsihed. She gazed at Hotch and added, "if you know what I mean." Hotch winked at her.

Morgan held up his hand in defense.

"Look, guys, not that I'm not happy for you all, but Hotch! This isn't like you! You're not usually this...spotaneous."

"Outoing?" JJ asked.

"Yeah, and you're not very subtle, either," Rossi quipped.

"Okay fine, fine," Hotch explained, "sometimes things just...happen. And these things are good things. She and I clicked."

"Oh, you guys 'clicked' alright," JJ said.

"Yeah, and things just 'happen,' Rossi chiped in.

"Well, they do!" Chloe exclaimed, "and I can't help it if Agent Hotchner—if he-"

God, just looking at the man made her speechless.

"Mmm, I told you to call me Aaron now," Hotch rumbled against her neck.

"Look, Chloe," Rossi explained, "we're all profilers. We know what we saw in that interrogation room. And Aaron, you really weren't subtle when you were ushering her out of there."

"Something was brewing for a long time," JJ smirked.

"What was brewing?" Reid asked.

"A thunderstorm, kid," Morgan quipped sarcastically, "the weatherman called for a really bad storm."

"Oh, a storm came alright," Chloe smiled. She looked at the team and gazed into Hotch's dark eyes.

"What do you say we go and check that weather forecast?" Hotch asked.

"Mmm. I think we better," Chloe flirted back, "it might be bad. I think you might need to protect me from it. Hold me?" she asked, taking his hand.

"Sweetie," Hotch whispered, "I think I am that storm you are talking about. But, the team doesn't need to know about that."

"AHEM!" the team yelled at the same.

Hotch picked Chloe up and carried her out the door.

"We're going out to dinner tonight. Take the rest of the day off. As a matter of fact, take the rest of the weekend off. I plan to." He kissed Chloe and walked off, leaving the rest of the team dumbfounded.

"Dio!" Rossi exclaimed, "They're worse than Garcia and Morgan!"
