Nightmare
A/N: My first try in writing a fic with 'horror' genre. I actually did this for my friend's composition, she asked me to help her and so I did. It is still one of my work, so I guess I'm allowed to post it here! So enjoy.
Alone's POV
I remembered it vaguely in the depth of my memory. That certain night of when the thunder stroke. I tried to escape the torment of fear by succumbing in the comfort of sleep and to let my dream cure the sharp pain throbbing in my chest. But it was only the beginning of the terror I was to experience. A horrible nightmare beyond my wildest imagination.
In my dream, I saw the world in the shades of gray. There were lots of people with identical stoic expression walking in the line. I couldn't control my body and something was forcing me to walk along with the crowd, I was just like a puppet being pulled by the string of a puppeteer. Although I was certain that I didn't know any of the people beside me, there was some kind of a weird nostalgic feeling mixed with the sense of loneliness. It was silent except for the flicking noise of the white flame dancing like a serpent. Inside the flame, there was a familiar figure, a face so beautiful It was unable to describe. Watching my every move with great curiosity and a shadow of a devilish smirk.
I tried my best to ignore the murderous stare of the creature that lurked in every shadow, I tried to close my eyes to evade the gruesome sight of the corpses who were boiled in the void of blood. I kept on walking as a voiced echoed in my consciousness, a soothing voice of a woman that said that I belong here with them, and that I couldn't escape the grasp of hell. In an instant, a horrible cry broke out, the monochrome nightmare that was silent revealed its true terror, the wailing of those unfortunate soul of the damned.
The dead raised from their eternal slumber, crying and groaning in agony and pain, I was then walking with those corpses crawling on the ground, trying to grab my feet. In the midst of horror, I saw the loving faces of my sister Sasha, my best friend Tenma, and all the children in the orphanage. Right before their skin rotted and their flesh burned, they let out a horrifying scream calling for my name. I walked on being forced by a power of the shadow, unable to scream neither to control my body, turning my back on the people I loved, leaving them to rot in hell. Each and every step I took led me into darkness, the images of my past mistakes flashed before my eyes, my past guilt came back and haunted my every step, eradicating my every last hope.
I was desperate for help in this dark wasteland of corpses, hoping for somebody to get me through this nightmare.
I didn't have the strength to escape anymore, every last sparks of hope had been consumed by darkness. When my last drop of tear fell, a ray of light broke the darkness and as I opened my eyes, I was greeted by the warm sunlight that shine through the window. The storm had stopped, and I was finally free from the nightmare. Although it was only a dream, It has wounded my soul, a scar so deep it was impossible to heal. Part of my wounded soul had been cast into the abyss of hell. Although I live in the world of light, It was inevitable for me to go back to that place someday when my time comes. And I'd realized something...
It was more than a nightmare.
I know It's short but I hope you like it, and don't forget to review the fic!
