Disclaimer: Rookie Blue is not mine. I'm just playing with the characters.
You wonder over this trend of enabling and advancing your relationship by negatives.
No
She had never said "no" to him. He sure as hell would have never (could never, ever) said "no" to her. "Disregard" "Things go back to normal" "It was what it was". All those had been thrown into the blunder they'd made of things. Just tonight he'd added "I'm with my boss" to the sad pile of deflections. As dire as the situation was, he couldn't bring himself to put those two letters together and fling them towards her.
And now, here it was. The moment. The one that not even the mother of all bad-timings could overthrow, and it was started by a negative. She says "No", and proceeds to sit in you table. While unbuttoning her shirt.
"No" she will not leave. And so, "Yes" to everything that's been hanging over you two. For second, you wonder if this is like that "no" to talk on that "almost yes" turned train-wreak. You need it clear. You don't think you can bear it again.
"There is no going back" "I don't want to go back"
You are both fools. Happy fools.
Later, when the "never come back here" start poring, you wonder over this trend of enabling and advancing your relationship by negatives. You guess you should have known it would come like this. It's been the way of both of you, stubborn and contrary. Only you two could turn one "No" into sex and make it the start of a relationship.
An: Just a blurb this time.
