Light Yagami stared at the special notebook in his hands. Honestly, he wasn't sure what to do and was frozen in disbelief and denial. He flipped through the pages, searching frantically. Next to him, Ryuk the Shinigami laughed gleefully as he munched on an apple.
Light growled in frustration. There had to be some somewhere. He couldn't have run out. No. It was impossible. Tossing the book onto his desk, he checked his watch, the floor, the false bottom in his drawer, his school bags, and even the garbage can. Every possible nook and cranny was searched. Nothing. Panic was beginning to grow in his chest.
"Looks like you have a little problem!" Ryuk teased, crunching loudly on another red fruit. He seemed to find the situation highly amusing. Light did not. Scowling, but otherwise ignoring the Shinigami, Light returned to the desk, snatched up the notebook, and flipped it open again. It was possible he had missed a page the first time- a very low chance, but possible. He flipped through the notebook with a frantic light in his eyes. There was nothing. He couldn't find a single one.
Light slumped back in his chair, still not quite believing what had happened, yet unable to deny the evidence staring him right in the face. He had really run out of pages in the Death Note.
…What on earth was he going to do now?

A/N- So, this was a little plot bunny I've had ever since I watched the series. Just a little "what if" thing that was never addressed in the anime, even though Light was constantly tearing out pages as well as generally killing people. The idea kind of sunk into the back depths of my brain until I watched half of the live-action movie (Which was… pretty bad, by the way. I'll give credit to L's actor though, he was amazing and pretty spot-on), where Light basically wrote in the Death Note with the biggest font possible and pretty much only fit one name on each page. Of course, the idea came back, and then sunk in the dregs of my mind once again until now. I've finally gotten around to gifting this piece to you three-quarters of a year later.
