The name's Albus. Albus Potter. And I hate weddings.
You see, it's the summer before my seventh year, and I thought I would be having some great adventure, 'gallivanting' as Aunt Hermione says, in the woods next to The Burrow. I basically didn't think I would be sitting in a massive tent. Right now, I'm sat at the very front of this guy called Edward's wedding to mum's friend Parvati Patil, who just about invited the whole wizarding world. And let me tell you, masses of people are here.
The invitees:
The Potters
The Weasleys (all of them! Can you believe that?)
The Longbottoms
The Scamanders
The rest of the Patil family
and the Malfoys.
So basically, a lot of guests.
I'm not a big part of the ceremony, but mum forced me to sit at the front to show my 'appreciation'. Scorpius Malfoy, the lucky git, gets to sit at the back with Rose and Hugo and Aunt Hermione and Uncle Ron. If I'm not mistaken, I think something's a little fishy between them two...
Wait, why is everyone standing up? Oh, it's the end of the wedding! Thank Merlin. Now it's time for the party! Freedom at last!
"Hey guys!" I see my friends and wave. I don't know, but I think Rose and Scorpius seem awfully close together. They've seemed to notice this, and shuffle apart quickly.
I decide to talk in this awkward silence. "So, have you seen Alice anywhere?"
"I think she's... Oh, look! There she is!"
I turn my head and wave, just as Rose shouts, "HEY ALICE! COME HERE!"
"Rosie, I'm pretty sure you just deafened me. If you weren't my cousin, I'd unfriend you." I say.
"Thanks. Well, at last I don't have seaweed for a brain!"
Scorpius just shakes his head at us disbelievingly at us. "Can you both just shut up for one minute?"
"Um no, I don't think we can actually.' I grin at him.
"Hiya Alice." Rose smiles.
I turn back around and take in the girl in front of me. Is this really Alice Longbottom I see before me?
