A/N: Not to many spoilers in here if you haven't read the books. Other than some boy/boy and talk of desertion, I don't think there's anything objectionable in here... thoughts please?

Fi had not expected to find Sev up on the roof of the barracks. It had always been his place to go and think and he had never had reason to believe Sev came up here as well.

"Sev?"

Sev spun around and immediately relaxed when he realized who it was. There was...differences between the two of them but after the terror op and everything that had happened, they could manage to get along. "What?"

"Nothing." Fi stepped up to the safety rail beside Sev. "Just didn't expect to find you up here."

Sev's answer was soft. "It's quiet."

Fi nodded. "I know. I come up here a lot." He looked down when something gripped his hand gently, finding Sev's hand entwined with his. He looked up, eyes wide but Delta's sniper kept his gaze out over the city.

"Have you ever thought about it?" Sev said it suddenly, catching Fi off guard and the Commando jerked back to reality. He'd been thinking about how nice Sev's hand felt in his.

"About what?"

"That you could just grab a ship and fly away? Drop off your armour and melt into the city?"

Fi's brow furrowed. "Unless the spooks find you. And what about your brothers?"

"I know." Sev looked down. "But if it was different. If your squad was strangers. If you had some place to disappear to. If desertion didn't mean death."

Fi reached up and gently took Sev's jaw in his hand, turning him s they were looking at each other. "You know I would. If I had the ability, I'd be gone."

Sev's hard brown eyes softened and the next thing Fi felt was a gentle pressure on his lips for only a moment.

Then Sev's hands and lips pulled away abruptly. His eyes had gone from gentle to wild and scared. "I'm sorry, I know you're not that type of guy I just..."

Fi grabbed Sev's wrist and pulled him into another kiss. "I think you've misjudged me."

Sev's eyes softened again. "I...thank you Fi."

Fi grinned and took Sev's hands in his, gloved fingers intertwined. "Come on. I don't think our squads will miss us for one night."
