Mae Black walked slowly into the Great hall and looked calmly around as the huge oak doors closed loudly behind her. Every occupant turned to see who is could be. Many sneered, while some nodded and started whispering to their friends about the brunette stood waiting. The girl spotted someone at the head table and waved her hand, causing everyone to turn and stare at Remus Lupin.
"Black. Take a seat" A cold voice drawled from the other side of the teacher's table. Mae smirked and raised an eyebrow at her godfather. Severus Snape didn't raise to the bate and nodded to an empty space at the Slytherin table. Mae rolled her eyes and walked silently towards the seat. The entire table looked her up and down before turning back to their friends. Dumbledore stood up and walked towards his podium. He waited as everyone turned silent.
"As you can see, we have a new student. Miss Black is starting here, among the other 7th years. Let's have another calm year, like last years. This years head boy and girl are William Weasley and Mae Black" Everyone frowned and turned to look at Mae again. "Remember the forbidden Forrest is off-limits to all students. Let the feast begin!" He snapped his fingers and the food appeared down the tables. The brunette raised her eyebrows impressed that the rumors were true, and started picking out various foods.
"What house are you in?" A small chubby boy asked, with his mouth stuffed with food. Mae made a disgusted face and swallowed her food.
"House of the cunning" She replied silkily. The boy smiled and continued eating. Mae looked around the room and observed all the different groups that existed. She looked across the hall and instantly spotted three Weasleys. Mae knew the Weasleys, sadly, due to her Fathers friendship with them. The only Black daughter and Weasley boys had never got along. Especially the eldest, Bill Weasley. There was something about the boy, that Mae couldn't stand. But now she was here at Hogwarts, and because she was head girl, she had to stand him.
When people began to leave, Mae spotted Dumbledore standing, so she also stood. The elder man smiled warmly and ushered for the teenager to follow him.
"Hello my dear. I hope your journey here was enjoyable?" He asked in a Grandfatherly way. Mae smiled.
"It was...Okay" She said slowly following as they walked down a hallway and through another. They finally reached a portrait of an old women sitting upon a chair, with a bowl of fruit on the table beside her. Mae cocked her head to the side and frowned. "Isn't this Perenelle Flamel?"
"Indeed it is my dear" The portrait replied. Mae raised her eyebrows.
"Flamel's wife is going to be our portrait?" Dumbledore nodded.
"She is. I bid you goodnight" The wizard nodded and swiftly strode down the hallway, until he was out of sight. Mae turned back to the painting.
"I studied about you in Beauxbatons. Well i tried. There's few books about yourself and your husband. Would you mind if asked a few questions?" Mae asked formally, snapping her fingers, and making a notebook and quill appear.
"Are you a journalist?" The woman asked suspiciously.
"An author" She grinned. The painting nodded. "So, how did you and your husband meet?"
