Remus tugged the itchy scarf around his neck and shivered, the biting cold tore through his thin coat and whipped his clothes around in the stiff breeze. His fingers were numb and pink, he fumbled to clumsily do up the buttons of his jacket. His tawny hair curled loosely at his neck from under the hideous woolen hat he pulled down over his ears. He wasn't far from the Hogwarts gates yet but already the weather was starting to get to him. He scrambled through the snow-covered bush that marked the entrance to the frosty track were they were meeting and there he was. Sirius shot him a grin that filled him with warmth like liquid honey and made him forget the wintry storm that was buffeting him around. They made their way up the hilly path, gloved hands linked. Sirius was not dressed for winter weather at all but he didn't seem to care, he just kept giving Remus sly little glances out of the corner of his eye and smiling to himself. As they neared the end of the track Sirius broke into a run, dragging Remus along behind him, their happy laughter echoing around the snowy landscape. They stopped at the top of the hill, both breathless and practically glowing with happiness. Sirius stood behind Remus gently held him by the waist, turning him towards the view below. The Hogwarts grounds lay below them with a frosty Hogsmeade glittering in the difference, everything was covered in perfect white snow and shimmered in the early morning sunshine.

"Wow", Remus's voice was stunned and breathy, "it's beautiful"

Sirius wrapped his arms tighter around Remus's chest and rested his chin on his shoulder, smiling. "I thought you'd like it"

Remus tilted his neck at an impossibly uncomfortable angle and their lips met clumsily, noses red with cold pressed against even colder cheeks and on that frosty hillside they seem to melt into one another, each pouring their soul into the boy in front of them.
