Deep Inside

Didn't it ever just occur to you

That your life meant more than you thought it did?

Didn't you ever just want to break through

And show the world that you're not that stupid?

You act cool as ice and look hard as stone

But inside you're only burning alive

You have many friends but you're all alone

You have to be if you want to survive

A shell protects you and the shell makes you

Shallow envelope without any life

There's so many things you just can't undo

Your childhood was just pain, hurt and a knife

The wound is so deep no one can see it

You buried your true colors deep inside

They're so deep that you can't even admit

Feelings are there even when they're denied

Your constant fight for self-preservation

Said to have hardened you beyond caring

But through all the pain and the confusion

Even you knew acting now meant nothing

As the bullets burnt through and as you bled

You knew you did feel and that's why you're dead.
