Just something really short, because honestly I can't stop thinking about the finale.
She never noticed any bricks crumbling.
She knew Castle had been trying to knock some down, but she thought she had been strong enough.
Granted she had initially put up her walls quickly, but she spent years reinforcing them.
Now as the curve of her back is flush against the side of some car and he's holding her up and stroking her hair she honestly wonders how the fuck he got in.
She never noticed any bricks crumbling.
So she guesses he dug a tunnel. Went right under because her walls, they're higher and stronger than ever. And yet he's here with her instead of on the outside where he should be.
She wants to push him out and flood his tunnels. But deep down she can't push him out anymore because if she pushes him away for good she knows she might never find anyone who wanted to see what was on the other side of those walls again.
She never noticed any bricks crumbling.
But it's never been clearer that something has changed .
