Once More
Darkness surrounds me pulling me down
Shadows whisper past my ears
Suffocating, drowning, in the depths
Chained to the bottom
No way to break free of the bonds
Light calls from far away
A long lost memory of hope
The voice of sweet perfection
Stifled by the looming sorrow
Overbearing grief and pain
Wishing to be freed of the chains
Golden rays recede, swallowed by the darkness
Blackness all around, no sign of hope
Thick waves pounding on
An empty chasm of nothingness
Emotions replaced by a hollow space
Despair fills it, no sign of escape
Wishing for the way things were before
Through the shadows and darkness
A silver flame shines through
Reaching down and dissolving the darkness
Chains break and sorrow cease
A warm voice calling my name
Life fills the hollow space once more
The surface of darkness breaks
Releasing me from its cold grip
Once more I live in hope
