Lunch was Orange Pekoe's favorite time of day. While most people, student or otherwise, share this, it was different for her. At lunch, She had tea outside with Darjeeling. Darjeeling acted almost as if she was... interested in her.
"That couldn't be." She thought. "Darjeeling is straight as an arrow. I'm not, I'm straight as- rainbows and circles are straighter than me."
Darjeeling loved lunch. At lunch, she always ha tea outside with Orange. She loved to tease Orange, just getting a strange look from some of the strange things she said always brought a smile to her face. Teasing Orange was fun, but she was getting impatient. Was she not interested, in love with someone else, or just that oblivious? She didn't want to ruin her friendship, but it was time to be more direct.
"Ah well," she thought, "an Englishwoman abandons her morals in love and war, especially in love."
Orange and Darjeeling were sitting on the ground, in the middle of a garden, drinking tea.
"Orange," Darjeeling said, "could we possibly meet here later? I have something to ask you."
Orange looked at her, with some curiosity in her eyes.
"What exactly would you like to ask me?" she asked.
"I think I'll keep that a secret for now," Darjeeling said, "after all, I don't want to ruin the surprise."
