The first one was intense, the second knocked him off his feet. Dean struggled to rise, but seventeen-year-old Sammy planted himself between them.

"Leave him alone, Dad!" Sam bellowed. "He's sick!"

"Dean?" John barked.

"M'fine. Just a cold, sir."

"Cold my ass! You've been pukin' since Tuesday night." Sam challenged, then glared at dad. "Training session's over. Unless you wanna take me on?"

"What did you say?" John snapped.

Sam stepped closer to John, distancing them from Dean. "Unless you wanna fight...sir."

John squared his stance, Sam mirroring his position.

Sam's first punch sent John reeling, the second floored him.
