Rex
The scruffy mutt ran up to Dean, sticking out its fat pink tongue and appearing to smile. Dean instantly bent down and scratched behind its pointy ears.
"Hey buddy. What's your story, huh?"
It only barked and stared up at him.
"Hey Sam!"
"Don't even think about it, Dean."
"Why not? He won't be any trouble at all."
"I mean it, Dean."
"Don't mind him, Rex. He just woke up on the wrong side of the bed."
…
"You do realize Bobby's gonna kill us if anything happens to his house, right?"
"Nah, he'll be a good boy. Won't ya, Rex?"
Sam waited in the Impala, cringing at the loud noises coming from Bobby's house. He considered running in to help Dean, but he had gotten himself into this mess.
Dean burst out running, "Drive! Drive!"
…
Sam couldn't take how depressed his brother looked anymore.
"You can't be serious."
"I left him behind, Sam. What kind of man am I?"
Sam shook his head and sighed, staring out the window.
"We'll get you a new one, alright?"
Dean looked at him with such hope he nearly felt his heart burst. Even though he knew, the decision would later be regretted.
